Never thought about that. That would be hard to swallow
I don't envy you for having to break news like that either, it must be tough.

It was me that contacted the mods here and on other sites with the news of Derek's tragic passing, as I have unfortunately had to do too many times in the past when other riders have lost their lives, as I usually find out pretty quickly or am at the racing myself. God forbid lads but I would hate to think if anything happened me when out on the bike my family would read about it on here rather than face to face, remember it could be any of us next so a little common sense and solidarity can save a world of pain for a family.
I am not calling for anyone to be 'Buswalded', banned or pilloried, it serves no purpose whatsoever and indeed only causes friction at a time when we should all be united in grief for the falling of one of our own. Lets draw a line under this lads and ladies and allow Derek be mourned with the respect he duly and deservedly earned whilst alive.
From now on lets wait till a Moderator or Admin himself posts the unfortunately inevitable news when another of our heroes loses their most important race.
Aidan.

It happened here before with a very high profile rider who had a son out of the country only Admin had the info and was quick off the mark. Its not me or the mods looking for medals or anything else, just a little common sense and courtesy towards understandably devastated families.

Common sense is lacking with some people around here Aidan, they're to caught up in their own little world.

Re: Fuck off postin biker accidents, includin any racing incidents
Posting day to day crashes that you can learn from makes scence.....braking too hard on a corner, wrong road position etc BUT as long as the rider walks away from the 'accident' in one piece I think it's OK....posting fatalities is tough viewing but if these guys at the top of their game can clock out early then us 'norms' should take note. We dont need to see someone die to remind us that what we do on our daily commute is dangerous, we have plenty of blind car users to keep us sharp and on our toes.

What about their families ....
often, news breaks here faster than on a lot of the 'official' websites.
This isn't a Micky Mouse site with a few hundred users.. There is a great racing fraternity, a decent sized ex pat group and a fooking HUGE home based crowd all online, posting or browsing on this site.
If I had a Brother/Cousin/father (sister/niece/mother) that had a spill as a racer or as someone just enjoying a spin and meeting their maker I SURE AS FUCK WOULDN'T WANT TO READ SOME POX POSTING THE DETAILS ONLINE BEFORE THE FAMILY HAD A CHANCE TO DEAL WITH IT
Now take your ONE POST and shove it.. your attitude here is not respected or wanted
