Default RDS Bike Show pics

Headed up on Friday & I hit the RDS around 4pm. Spent an hour or so nosing around & I met a few acquaintances. I didn't even take any pics on the Friday. Back there at 11am on Sat. & I spent three hours or so arsing around, looking at stuff & taking the piccies. First thing that I noticed was the absence of brolly dollies. Nothing would start the day better than an eyeful of nice bird wearing just a bra, knickers & heels but unfortunately they were absent this year. Oh well! As per usual I made a beeline for the VJMC stand to see the golden oldies & in fairness the bikes that they had on display were top class. Another club (a racing club, I think) also had a fine display of golden oldies. I found that old Brit bikes were extremely scarce this time around. Brexit? I didn't take up too much of my time going over the new bikes but I didn't see anything that I would be tempted to call spectacular. I must admit that I like the Indian range even though I would never buy one. There were some fairly serious machines on the Custom stand for the builders' competition but the display area is both too small & too dark to show those bikes at their best, which is too bad. The exhibitors deserve better. As per other years I enjoyed the show & the countdown to 2021 has started Piccies......

A few famous faces were to be seen here & there

The weather was horrendous on the way up on Friday & on the way down today. I pity anyone who was out on their bike in those conditions. I hope everyone got home safely. I took around 100 pics & they are all here http://s1183.photobucket.com/user/My...%20Show%202019

Thumbs up Re: RDS Bike Show pics

The Yamaha 750 and my Kawasaki Samurai were on the JCVMOI stand (Japanese Classic & Vintage Motorcycle Owners Ireland) the other 11 bikes on the stand with the exception of the Triumph all belong to members of this group

That display really took me back through the years. A Yammy Twin, YAS1, XS 750 & XS 1100. That Bridgestone & your Samurai are massive. The Triumph at your display was the only classic Brit bike that I saw at the show, which represents a big change from previous years. Another thing: if you look through my pics you will see that there isn't any 'Obligatory Chicken Chaser Pic', something that I always include just for fun. That's because I didn't see any Chicken Chaser at the show, which is another 'first'. I love the small bikes of the '60s/'70s but it is nice to see the bigger machines as well. I always wanted a XS 1100 back in the day but I could never afford one. And I'd love a blast on that RC 45 as well

The Bridgestone came from the late Harry Lindsay's collection - it was originally a brown colour but the now owner restored it back to the original white. Strangely the Triumph was the only other true Brit bike other than the AMD display and "Triumph" Dublin - usually the Ace Cafe area has a few. No chicken chasers - I specifically wanted the YL1 & YAS1 because I though they would catch the eye of my generation and I have to say they were the most photographed and talked about in our display. You could watch people turn the corner into the room and stop and take out phones for photo and talk to friends etc about them
