Sport Touring Lid Deals?

Looking for a new sport touring lid. Was thinking HJC RPHA 70 or something similar.

Any good deals to be found or models to focus on?

Re: Sport Touring Lid Deals?

With you being in cork, go into Lee Motorcycles......I think they have HJC and the new Shoei GT-Air II........and most other brands.
both are pricey but top of the pops with regards to quality.

Pat (I think) offered me discount when I showed an interest in the Shoei

Re: Sport Touring Lid Deals?

I have both the IS-17 and RPHA 70. The RPHA 70 is a very good upgrade, have a look at this thread as there is few other opinions and also I have a small review of the helmet on page 2. https://www.biker.ie/forum/showthrea...=248129&page=2
Also I mentioned in my post that I had an issue with the visor not staying in place. I bought a set of new hinges for it and that's solved the problem. Nothing seemed wrong with the original hinges but they had a lot of play in them for some reason. Hope it's of some use to you.

Re: Sport Touring Lid Deals?

Got the HJC rpha 70 a couple of weeks back and find it to be an excellent lid. Paid 350 for it in matt black from motorcycleshop.ie. Previously had a shoei but you need to go up to the Gt air (I think) to get an internal drop down sun visor.
Find the padding is just as plush as my previous shoei and I would say it is also quiter.
Normally take an xl in shoei, caberg and most other brands but the hjc is quite snug. Most xl sizes are 61 - 62, wheras the hjc is a 60 - 61. Obviously try before you buy.

Called into them yesterday, the lad with glasses was very helpful. The RPHA 70 was 415 but they were willing to knock 10% off before I even asked for a discount.

Re: Sport Touring Lid Deals?

If you are normally a Large in most other brands.......maybe try an XL in the new HJC RPHA helmets.

Re: Sport Touring Lid Deals?

Shoei GT Air, brilliant. Had an Arai Axces 3, noisy, and felt like it was being ripped off my head over 50mph. Don't know why people rave about Arai after that, sold it after a week. RPHA, visor very close to your face, mists easily and the tab broke off that closes the visor after about two months, looks good but the quality is not there. I generally stick with Shoei these day.

Re: Sport Touring Lid Deals?

Picked up Airoh ST 701 Carbon in Cotter MC few weeks back. Very light, integrated sun visor and pinlock insert included. I'm on a naked bike, haven't noticed any buffeting at higher speeds. You can add bluetooth kit to it too.
