» Anyone know anywhere in Dublin to get the leather glove stitching repaired
Nov 24, 2017 - 10:20 PM - by goose81
As title says, thanks . This isn't a straight sewing job so misus or mother can't do it, I had an upholstery lad try to do it and he fucked it, sliced through half a finger because the machine was too powerful so it might require new leather being put in

» Honda blackbird wiring harness
Nov 24, 2017 - 9:24 PM - by sean61
The speedo on my blackbird started working intermittently so I took off the screen and front fairing for a look yesterday.
It turns out the loom is a mess. One of the block connectors to the dash is broken and not making a right connection, the connectors for the lights have been replaced with crappy spade connectors and when I put everything back together the front indicators wouldn't work.

After much swearing and soldering bits of wires I've decided a new front loom section would be my best bet to preserve my sanity.

Will the loom from any pre digital dash work on my 2000 model or are there more changes during the years?
I know the loom gives trouble so maybe someone here has first hand experience of replacing theirs...

» Battery problem (Triumph Sprint)
Nov 24, 2017 - 9:23 PM - by Hughsie
Lads, bike wouldnít start this evening coming out of work - got it going with jump leads, but the same thing happened only 6 months ago.

The previous battery was only a year old and the current one was brand new in June.

My suspicion is the alarm, but have any of you got any other avenues I should be exploring?

As always, all advice much appreciated

» Kawasaki H2 SX Supercharged Sports Tourer
Nov 23, 2017 - 6:29 PM - by Duke RR
They've no doubt done it again......a break from the norm imo.

Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow.

Two versions, one slighter more expensive ( extra spec ) than the other. Prices judging by interweb around 19k here. The base model pretty much is as well spec'd as the higher model. Full led's, cruise control etc etc.

With a couple of other jap manufacturers, the future looks bright for supercharged bikes.

Buying an nsr80 soon, 800 quid off a friend of mine. Only 'problems' are the plastics and the fact that its an 80cc
Im not bothered bout the plastics as i want a streetfighter/naked look on it. Im as light as a feather, 65 kilos 5'10. Wondering if thers much i can do to give it a little kick to help it keep up on the road.
Also.. although theres a very small possibility of it being possible, how would it fare as a "stunt bike"?

Thanks in advance

» Jean-Type bike pants
Nov 21, 2017 - 10:26 PM - by haz619
Hi all, so I went down to lee honda in cork and got my head to toe bike gear.
They were great down there and im really happy with what I got.. but

I Got a pair of textile legs but tbh I wasn't sure about them at the time. They seem comfy enough and the lad said they are 99% waterproof. When I was there I was looking at the jean type legs and liked the look and feel of them.

I think they would be a bit more breathable as I sweat a lot when I get too warm. I was talking to a fella a while back who had a set of these and he said they were completely waterproof and breath a lot better than textiles.

Has anyone any experience/advice on this. Im considering taking the pair I got back down and exchanging them as they still have the tag on.

I just had time to call him a stupid Ba##ard and give her enough time to take out ear phones to be called a silly C##T.

» Aftermarket exhaust can suggestions?
Nov 21, 2017 - 12:05 AM - by christyg
Hi all

I posted a couple of weeks back about getting a baffle for my stubby viper can cos the noise was starting to get on my nerves. Anyway, long story short the suppliers on the net didn't seem to have them in stock and in the meantime my can is after getting even louder. I think it might be over the hill, does this happen to silencers eventually, do they get louder as the packing degrades/breaks down?

Anyway I'm in the market for a quieter after market end can. The good folks in Megabikes recommended something from delkevich, where you can leave in or take out the baffle. Anyone have one, or make any other suggestions. It's a 2001 bandit 600 so don't want to spend anymore than about 250 on it. Sound!

Seriously lads

Has anyone seen the mobile embarrassment on the Adventure bike- Triumph or a Beeeemer or most likely a Honda Crossdresser - with all 27 of his lights on high beam filtering through traffic on the N11, going northbound then into Donnybrook early in the mornings.
The total ledgebag is going along gesticulating to the traffic at large with total wang-like 'get back plebs' and 'stay away' pushing motions with his arm, mostly to people who are nowhere near him or who he's already passed.

Jesus wept its embarrassing to be seen on a bike anywhere near this fella, I'm riding along thinking 'what a wanker' so god knows what the cage drivers think... [Read More]

Hi Lads,

Story is that the clocks on my GSXR do not work. Mileage counter and speedo work but tachometer indication for fuel/high beam/immobiliser do not.

I bought the bike with a replacement set but the mileage is double. Is there any legitimate source to have them changed to the correct mileage. I have a full history check on the bike upto this year.

Hi lads, newcomer to the forums. Recently bought a 1996 Hornet 250, the bike is starting on all 4 cylinders and running perfectly while cold, itís just moving off cold on the temp. Gauge and goes down to 2 cylinder for a few seconds and then stops, the bike wonít start or run for 5 to 10 minutes until it cools again and away it goes again till it warms again and the same thing happens. Correct new spark plugs are in place, coils and leads were changed, carbs have been cleaned and are operating correctly as far as I know, tank has been cleaned and fuel tap diaphragm has been checked, the tank cap is also venting correctly so fuel is flowing as fair as I know, there is no obvious wiring issues, no poor connections to my knowledge that I can see, Iím thinking myself itís an electrical fault?... Hi Guys,
First post here.
I am over 40 years biking and have a few points of interest.
I have noticed over the past two or three years that other drivers have become increasingly intolerant to bikers. Yes there was always some resentment toward us but I think that was due to speed but now however I believe it to be people upset that you are getting something over them and they seem to be taking it way tooooo seriously. To a dangerous level which I for one have never seen before.
Last week alone;
Last week I was exiting Tesco which has a bit of a slip way onto the street proper. There was a good 60/70 meters between me and the oncoming car. The silly bitch laid on the horn and nearly rear ended me because I got out in front of her. I have never seen a... [Read More]
