DRZ400 or CB600 fa7

Hi guys

I dont post much here but enjoy reading the website. What would be better, a DRZ or a hornet 600 for a daily 20 min commute each way (not motorway). I dont have a lot of storage space (just a small garage) and would like a bike as light as possible for getting around traffic.

I used to do a bit of motorway riding to the west, but lately I only do that 2 or 3 times a year now.

At the moment I have a 07 hornet (I cant update my profile) which is very nimble and light (Especially compared to the vulcan 800 i was using before), but im going to view a DRZ later today. I hear they are a lot of fun.

What do you think? Any advice would be appreciated. :bikerie:

Drz

My main concerns with the DRZ are the height and weight of the bike (im about 5'8), whether it would be much lighter and easier to maneuver or would it be the same or similer to the hornet and the drop in power (I dont really use the top end power).

I love the Hornet, but i have an opportunity to do a straight swap. Also would it fit in my small garage any better, its a pain not having a center stand for storage.

I'd stick with hornet , Drz is a great bike but needs more maintenance than the hornet, drz is great fun for short spins but if you need to travel a bit hornet is the one

The DRZ is one of the most highly sought after bike by bike thieves, if you do buy it it will be hard to keep hold of..................:thumbsup2:

Thanks,i appreciate your input. Not what I wanted to hear, but it's what I needed to hear. You know yourself, I have the Hornet a year now and I love it and it's perfect for my commute and some trips away, but am always itching to try something else.

DRZ would probably be the most fun but also more expensive to maintain and also it is one of the first bikes that scumbags rob for fun so unless you have very secure storage at work and home it is something to consider

I probably just need to learn how to wheelie the Hornet. :-)

I've commuted on a supermoto for a few years. It's bloody great!

Ok, what about a different supermoto dual sport kinda bike with a bit more grunt and comfort then the DRZ but is still easy to maneuver and light, is there such a thing that would be a good replacement for the Hornet? :bag:

Go for the drz, bikes don't loose value so it costs fuck all to scratch that itch and try something else if your not happy. I've never ridden a drz but they are supposed to be the reliable goto in light dualsports

Thanks everyone, I went to view it and it's cool, but I'm not sure anymore and the guy would prefer cash anyway.
I'll read up on Aprillia and get back to you.

Yea, I would say stick with hornet for a daily commute. It's one of the best for this. And bikes like drz attracts much more unwanted attention from the scumbags and has a higher chance of being stolen.
