Howyis guys, anyone have any experience with one of these? (Earlier models, upto '10.)

Have settled on one of these as my first "big" bike, ticks a lot of boxes for what I'm looking for
Upright position, powerful enough for the A test, insurance is reasonable, from what I've read up on them,no real reliability issues etc...

Anyone on here have any firsthand experience long-term with one?
Anything to watch out for/how did you find it?

Unfortunately, they seem to be pretty rare on this island so I'll be looking at Germany, keeping my eye on the-parkingmotorcycle.eu and plenty within my budget,a lot with some nice extras too.

Anyone with of experience buying privately in Germany?is it a lot of hassle compared to... [Read More]

» R.P.H.A or Rpha?
Dec 31, 2021 - 11:34 AM - by jic44
How is RPHA as in HJC RPHA pronounced. Is it a word or letters.

Dropped my Shark RS PRO Carbon off the top box and its knackered. Half thinking of the RPHA 11 as a replacement and what to at least know how to ask for it.

Also opinions on the helmet please.

» Motorcycle Valeting NOW @ CITY SPARES Motorcycles
Dec 23, 2021 - 3:11 PM - by The Road Runner
I had heard that City Spares Motorcycles were doing a New Valeting Service a while back.

A good pal mentioned to me that he was putting his bike up for sale, i know the bike well so because of the condition in general i mentioned to him that he could benefit by having a full valet before photos and advertising, to get Best Price and SELL FASTER.....He liked that so he made an appointment and dropped the bike over to them , it didn't suit him to wait a few hours , so said he would call back next day.....So thats what he did.......And he called me to say thanks for the heads up.

He was well impressed with their job , I called over to him a couple of days later and couldnt believe my eyes, it was like looking at a new machine,

I... [Read More]

Dec 15, 2021 - 5:28 PM - by dePeatrick
Iím wondering if anyone can help with a dispute Iíve had over Joeys pub, They claim that you had to go outside and piss up against a wall and this was not changed until after Joeys death. I was there in the early 80s and donít remember that at allÖbut I did go on the defence and insisted it was untrueÖ

With a cooler head now Iím not as sure.

Dec 12, 2021 - 9:44 AM - by Trotter Independent Trading
Iíve been looking at the 790 adventure a while now and Iím a little torn. I see mixed things online but as with everything, it always seems like there is a bias towards the negative things or when something goes wrong. Or maybe thatís what Iím telling myself

Anyway I wondered if there is anyone here who has experience with a 790 adventure, any issues, things to look out for etc. would you recommend it would you not.

Also anyone have anything to say about M50 Honda? Looking at the bike there but never dealt with them before

» Government Funded Off-Road Tracks
Dec 10, 2021 - 11:40 AM - by Big H
I see funding is going to be made available for off-road tracks in 'problem areas'.

I would hope a first step is that users of these urban tracks are asked to provide proof-of-purchase of their bikes /VINs checked(once not ground off) against the stolen bikes register before using these tax-payer funded tracks.

Too many stolen yokes flying around estates all over the country that's giving all genuine bikers a bad name....

» Decent cheap(ISH) gore Tex gloves
Nov 22, 2021 - 11:38 PM - by Brrm!Brrm!
As above, any recommendations for cheapish gore Tex gloves?(have seen a few pairs on fc-moto in the Ä130-180 range) any one point me in the right direction?

Have a pair of alpinestars sp-365 drystar, picked up the scooter to bring it back from Dublin to Waterford on Saturday, soaked through by the time I got to baltinglass...water proof me hole!
Was drizzling with one or two heavy patches but nothing really too bad, pretty disappointing really.

Recorded the trip on Strava,if anyone wants a giggle...not bad for a 21yr old 50cc scooter 😅
