Lads. Bit of advise on the legallity and morals of taking my 4 1/2 year old on a daily 5 min ride as part of my commute. Dropping him to a child minder. All 50kph zone. My only other option is to buy a car. Which would actually make me sick. He loves riding with me as it is. But it's only been around the estate.

I'm I mad for even considering this.

» Dublin is putting me off buying another bike
Jun 14, 2019 - 10:38 AM - by Luki
I've had a commuter bike pretty much since 2008. I have been living in Canada the last while. I didn't lock my bike anywhere in Vancouver. Bike crime doesn't really exist.

Just back in Dublin, 2 weeks and have been looking for a cheap 600cc plus bike between flat hunting.

There is nothing under Ä2k and less than 10 years old on donedeal. Where are all the guys who used to import bikes from USA/Japan/UK for resale gone, that the used prices are so high?

Add to this the hastle of not being able to own anything here without:
1 Some arseling sitting on it for a picture and knocking it over
2 Vandalising/robbing a part
3 Outright stealing the bike
Why are Dublin Garda fucking useless at tackling petty criminality? I'd... [Read More]

Howdy. Long story short ive been offered a bagster tank cover for my bike for a reasonable price .
I've not used them before and am wondering is there any drawbacks from using one .e.g. do they damage /scrape the paint underneath or cause rust ect? The paint on the tank is very good so I don't want to risk damaging it

Checked all there but cant see anything loose, need ideas of what to look at. Chain is fine. Cant afford to bring bike shop at moment and dont want it to be something simple only to have them spoof me and say its something big. Any help be appreciated thanks.

Howdy All,

Long time since I've been rolling but I have this week bought a few bikes in a lot. The main bike was the one I was after but in the stuff is a XLH Harley 1200. I have papers for everything except the Harley and wanted to start a build with what I have of her, maybe bobber hardtail or similar.

I wanted to ask everyone if they had any experience in retrieving a Log Book for a bike when the book has been lost. I did it years and years ago but it was in my name and was very straight forward.

In this case I do not have any of the details of the previous owner. All I have is the engine/frame numbers. The number plate and thats it ... [Read More]

» Isle of Man TT: Dunlop edges Coward to win Supertwins race
Jun 06, 2019 - 7:40 PM - by Admin
Michael Dunlop took his 19th Isle of Man TT win by repeating last year's victory in the Lightweight race for Supertwins.

In a race reduced to two laps from four, the Ballymoney rider pipped Jamie Coward by 1.3 seconds after a race-long battle, with Lee Johnston third.

Dunlop's final lap of 122.46mph was marginally outside his own lap record.

The 30-year-old had endured a disappointing TT, having failed to finish on the podium in four races.

Anyone aware of a replacement part for these,Suzuki only sell it as part of a service kit for the pump and itís extortionate. I know I can dick about with it to raise the pressure but I would rather swap it it out with a new part while Iím doing the pump, itís falling slightly short only holding 2.7 bar as opposed to 3 bar specíd,pump flow rate is also down so between the pair itís causing hesitations, any info much appreciated

Hi one and all its been a while since i posted here, Good to be back.

My problem, ( well i've lots of those) but the main one, I bought i 02 CBR600F injection a few weeks ago, Now its been laid up since 2013 in a barn, So it was dry, Apart from the normal corrosion and a bit of rust here and there its in good shape. The battery was flat when i got i so charged it and happy days after 6 years laid up it started, Now, The issue, Nothing is every going to be right after not running for that length of time for sure. The bike was smoking like fook and when it got to 50 degrees or so temp after idling for a few mins it just cut out and was very difficult to start, when i did start it i had to keep it at 5 to 6000 revs to keep it running , as soon as i let off the accellerator it... » Classic Bike Trackday?
Jun 04, 2019 - 12:06 PM - by ascalon
In much the same vein as the classic superbike racing series, I wonder would there be any interest in a classic bike track day?

There are lots of old machines about that still have a fair turn of speed, with riders who are still up for twisting the loud handle.

Restricted to road bikes only, you could do a classification system to allow for varying degrees of capability, both for machine and rider.

You could use something of the classic superbike rules and say have a cut off of 1999, but go back to pre1950s, 60s and 70s, 80s and 90s, and then a modern era from, say, 1992 to 1999, as that would incorporate everything from RC30s to R1s.

Or, depending on what turns up, you could just blend capability of rider and machine to... [Read More]
