» Penalised as a solo traveller
Jun 27, 2022 - 11:00 PM - by R.M
Went to book my ferry for next year to Spain as got email from Brittany ferries to say schedule for 2023 was out. Was planning to go in June but fare with cabin was working out at Ä761.
Emailed them asking if any discount codes available, but got a no as a response.
Decided to go in late April and this cost Ä606.

You're being screwed having to book a 4 berth cabin even though you only need one bed. There's no way I'd travel that length of time on a boat without bed and shower facilities. You'd think they would have a few single berth cabins available. It's also their new cruise ship Galacia, so someone has to pay for it.

Anyway, rant over. Roll on next April.

Jun 27, 2022 - 7:16 PM - by pedrosixfour
Anyone qualified and with a good idea of the test route(s) in Tullamore available to do a pre test lesson on Friday morning with my sister?

She's tried the guy's she did her IBT with, but they're booked solid. The guy I did mine with isn't doing bike lessons anymore.

» Riders Policy Carole Nash
Jun 22, 2022 - 2:43 PM - by strokeofgenius
Recent change to Carole Nash policies. For years lads at my insurance renewal time I asked the question am I insured to drive other bikes not owned by me ie in someone elses name. The answer was always yes. This year its yes but it has to be taxed and insured by the owner. This is a real pain in the bollox as I have several old yokes in family members names etc .As I've only ever in recent years been with CN I ask is there any policy from another company that will cover me on other bikes not in my name.It used to be called the riders policy years ago.

» Italian Alps
Jun 19, 2022 - 8:06 PM - by scorpy
Took a trip on the K1200 up to the most northerly valley in Italy, Val Formazzo, before Switzerland yesterday, mostly because it's very warm down lower and I wanted to get somewhere a bit cooler for a few hours.

2 and a half hours easy ride north of my place here, stopped once for a quick break on the way in Domadossola. 29 to 32 degrees enroute in the leathers but they are very well vented and the humidity is fairly low. Saturday morning/ afternoon traffic was light to non existent on the back roads. A few bikes, more big scoots and thankfully no campers and coaches.

Roads are mixed quality, particularly the alpine routes north of Domadossola. Some of the tarmac is very cracked in the curves but not badly potholed in general. It's rough in some places but... [Read More]

» Oil capacity
Jun 14, 2022 - 5:28 PM - by Brrm!Brrm!
Hi folks,
Any help here would be appreciated.

Going to change the oil and filter on my 92 honda 400 super four nc31,I'm a bit sketchy on capacity.

Can't find an English workshop manual for an nc31,only the later VTEC versions

Found someone on 400greybikes.com saying 3.1 litres when changing the filter too,but getting conflicting information from a couple of sites (bikespecs.net etc) giving slightly higher IE 200ml.

Any owners/former owners/lads in the trade able to point me to a definitive answer ?

Thanks in advance 👍

» Pump
Jun 06, 2022 - 8:10 AM - by Rockster
Anyone recommend a good foot pump with a (very) accurate psi gauge. Was 10 psi under inflated due to a halfrauds cheapo pen style yoke showing 36 and was actually 26psi.
Needless to say handling was "interesting "!

» Aprilia Part Search - RSV Mille
May 27, 2022 - 3:51 PM - by Jfarrell32
Hi, anyone got any suggestions on where to find Fuel Pump Wiring for an RSV Mille? There are major delays in gettting OEM parts so I am hoping to pick up a second hand one to keep me going for a couple of months (a new one would be great too). It is a known problem on the RSV (break in cable to Fuel Pump) so risky using a second hand one but only way to get it back on the road in the short term - any suggestions welcome - North or South? J

» Battery. Nuts. Driving me.
May 21, 2022 - 12:30 PM - by Technician
Random one.

Lost the little seating nut that acts as the retainer on the battery poles where the terminals connect. Didn't think much of it as I have a bowl of nuts of various sizes - except I can't find one that fits the space. It's rectangular-shaped vs a square and it's stopping me from connecting the circuit.

Tell me your bodges! Or where can I restock?
