So today an opportunity arose to make a couple of ticks off my bucket list.
I had a run out in a sidecar.Some craic but f**kin hell,it's some workout.
I've aches I've never felt before,I thought I was fairly fit but this was an eyeopener.
And just before we knocked off,I was offered a shot in the pilots slot.
The grip and acceleration is unbelievable. My usual photographer was unavailable so this'll have to do.

» BSB Showdown contender Andy Irwin penalised for overtake
Aug 18, 2019 - 8:30 PM - by Admin
Andrew Irwin's hopes of securing his place in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Showdown suffered a blow on Sunday after he crashed out of race two at Cadwell Park.

The 24-year-old from Carrickfergus tangled with PBM Be Wiser Ducati rider Scott Redding, who started the race at the front of the grid before falling back to 9th on the second lap, when both men we accidentially sent sprawling onto the grass.

Redding reacted angrily following the incident, squaring up to the young Ulster rider before storming off to race direction and demanding that he be penalised.

» Irishman Kennedy Doubles up at Cadwell
Aug 18, 2019 - 7:04 PM - by Admin

Dubliner Jack Kennedy made it nine wins on the bounce today and 13 this year after cruising to his second Dickies British Supersport win of the weekend this afternoon.

Integro Yamaha’s title favourite blasted past his team-mate Brad Jones early on and was never headed, leaving the rest in a scrap for podium points.

Jones made the best launch as he led Seeley and Kennedy out into the Lincolnshire countryside, but after the Wee Wizard was squeezed back to third in a three-wide scrap into Park, Jones and Kennedy began to break away before the Irishman found a way through on his young team-mate.

As Seeley... [Read More]

Cadwell Park rookie Scott Redding opted not to hit the track in today’s wet second Bennetts British Superbike session in the hopes the weather will pass overnight.

The Be Wiser Ducati rider admits he does need the wet track time but wasn’t keen to try his luck in the severe rain which lashed the track this afternoon.

Aug 16, 2019 - 4:50 PM - by Admin
Northern Ireland’s Eugene Laverty will ride for the factory BMW Motorrad team in next year’s World Superbike Championship.

The 33-year-old will take over the ride from Marcus Reiterberger and previously rode for Shaun Muir’s SMR outfit 2017 and 2018 on Aprilia machinery.

Laverty, who is currently competing for Team Go Eleven on the new Ducati V4R, will ride the BMW S1000RR for the first time during end of season testing in November.

» Pirelli Angel GT ii ( 2 ) New Tyres - Promo on
Aug 16, 2019 - 11:38 AM - by Duke RR
i was in need of new rubber for the bike. Im well familiar with pirelli at this stage, so stuck to them. Never had original GT's it was always supercorsa's etc on the doocati's and rosso 2 & rosso 3's and metzler / bridgestone on adv tyres.

Spun over to Cotters yesterday , a deal too good to turn down, with these new tyres " PIRELLI ANGEL GT2 BUY REAR GET FRONT TYRE FREE " To me, thats a win win.

( there may well be other shops carrying this promo but cotters was the one i spotted )

Pirelli are only promoting the tyre for a short period, so not sure when this promo will run out. IMO , you'd be mad to pass up.

» Finding the right size jacket.
Aug 16, 2019 - 12:06 AM - by woody84
I've been trying on textile jackets left right and centre but very hard to find one that's fits right. Either too tight or too loose. Short sleeves, armour that doesn't stay where it should. At the minute I've been looking at an Alpinestars jacket but the xl sleeves are slightly short and the xxl feels baggy with loose armour. Any advice?

Aug 14, 2019 - 11:00 AM - by Admin
Santander TAGís Dan Linfoot will race at Cadwell Park for the first time in two years after missing the event in 2017 and 2018 through injury.

The Yorkshireman will get in some extra laps tomorrow during the official test and is hoping to claw back some of the 66 points he needs to claim a Showdown spot.

ďI havenít actually ridden there for two years, in 2017 I broke my hand in race one after crashing at turn one and last year I had a broken wrist but I do like Cadwell, I just donít seem to have had good results there, which is something that I am trying to improve upon,Ē said Linfoot.

» K1300s vs R1200GS vs ....
Aug 13, 2019 - 1:02 PM - by positron
If you had to have just one bike as your tool of choice, to commute (100 kms a day, fast motorways & filtering equal parts) and you want to take the same bike to travel Europe once or twice a year 3-5 days at a time, and you hope to go further away than that (lotto etc... to eventually ride on poorly surfaced roads), what would be your choice?

I am more or less happy with my F800GT for commute and occasional distance work, and it has more than enough power for my abilities to be honest, but I am just itching for an upgrade I suppose. I was reading up on F850GS and it looks great except for the chain (I massively dislike chain maintenance. Shaft or belt is the only choice).

Between K1300S and R1200GS ... for those who have tried both, any thoughts?

» Irwin aiming for more top-six finishes at Cadwell BSB
Aug 13, 2019 - 11:30 AM - by Admin

Thruxton winner Andrew Irwin is keeping his feet firmly on the ground after taking his maiden Bennetts British Superbike win last time out and is aiming for consistent top-six finishes at Cadwell this weekend.

Irwin moved into Showdown contention with the win and second in race two behind Josh Brookes, pushing Honda team-mate Xavi Fores into championship seventh but says he wants to just keep up his recent run.

“I think both myself and Xavi have shown how competitive the Honda is in BSB. we have both been strong and I think nobody would have expected me to win at Thruxton and I love that,” said Irwin.

They send me a letter to tell me my licence is due for renewal and I need the following :
Proof of address, but the letter they sent me or the licence I am renewing will not suffice as proof of address, they need an utility bill.
Photographic proof of who I am, but the licence I am renewing will not suffice even though my picture is on it, they need my passport.

Aug 10, 2019 - 5:32 PM - by Honda boi
Have an 02 gsx 1400.
The Speedo and rev counter not working, and the odometer doesn't show anything, just flashing lines.
The fuel gauge,back lights,all lights(neutral ,oil,full beam) work.
Clocks do a sweep when turning the key.
Pulled the wiring harness out thinking one of the cables got spliced while it was sitting out but nope all good.
Then got in touch with the previous owner and he said it didn't work for him when he used it last .
So I need to replace or fix.
Replace is hard as not many of them around breaking.
Repairing these hard? Thinking of trying it myself, if all goes wrong where could repair these?

Even though I'm a mechanic by trade (not hands on for a good while) the sense of accomplishment from working on the bike is amazing.
New rear shock done! Popping noise from the engine sorted(turned out to be a loose plug and plug lead. New plugs done. New grips, new mirrors, fix sticking rear brake, done. Repair damaged panels and repaint, done.

I never get sick of this!!!!!

I have the "vice grips" universal thing but the bolt is so tight, its starting to cause a little wear on the basket.
Im fitting the slipper clutch off the newer model so dont care too much about the damage but the correct tool for the job is always better. Im worried the basket will break altogether and then im screwed.
