» Should Tommy Bridewell be banned from racing after endangering riders at Oulton Park?
Sep 16, 2023 - 11:00 AM - by gipi
Quest channel is showing live BSB from Oulton Park tomorrow. Programme starts at 1pm.

It's a free to air channel, so you should be able to get it on your tellybox no matter what system you use!

Michael Dunlop will be racing in the Superbike class, replacing Josh Owens.

I'm absolutely gutted after being messaged about moss passing on .
He was such a great character on her for 15 yrs or more and was always great craic and positive .
I've never heard a bad word about the man .

when I was going through absolute hell he was there supporting me . He rang and picked me up on some very dark days and I believe this was typical of him . It's a sad loss for so many :-(

» New CB1300 and nods
Sep 10, 2023 - 6:06 PM - by Tonio50
After riding on an XJR 1300 and a VFR 1200, I had to change to a Burgman 650 due to a problem with my elbow and using the clutch.

In the 5 years on the Burgman, I only got about 3 nods from bikers.....old timers on classic bikes

Now that I'm back on a CB1300, I'm now going to nod at every single scooter I see

Thank you to the bikers who gave me the nods....it meant the world to me as I felt completely ostracised

» Insurance - Query
Sep 09, 2023 - 9:21 AM - by SUGS
Need advice Folks.... I have a family member who comes over from Australia once every two years to traverse our fine roads and those of the UK and Europe over a 30day period. He has a 2004 bike which I store for him. His problem is insurance and his current provider will no longer accept his Aussie license. Does anyone know if there is a company that offers temporary cover?

Sep 01, 2023 - 6:24 PM - by Brrm!Brrm!
Hi lads, looking for recommendation for a trainer to do some pre-tests as I'm booking the test in the next few days.

(Can no longer get away without the L vest, got pulled the other week, thankfully didn't do me for it though! But my card is marked and about time anyway.)
Need to get rid of my shitty habits anyway!

A quick search is showing:

Road craft
Paddy Russel/preferential training
And a bit further out,two wheels Training in enniscorthy.

Anyone input greatly appreciated.

» French and Spanish Tolls - how to organise
Aug 22, 2023 - 1:09 PM - by gcos
Hi all,
Would appreciate some guidance about road tolls on a proposed trip starting in Bilbao and finishing near Toulouse.
What way would ye recommend arranging payment for the inevitable tolls - prepaid, rock up to the booth and hand over cash / card, or avoid altogether? Don't think avoiding them is a realistic option.

» Old Vstrom 650 vs old versys 650 vs old Tiger 800
Aug 11, 2023 - 5:19 PM - by jic44
Wee man is starting preschool in September so I will have a bit less driving him around to do. I should be able to go back to using a bike a bit more, maybe 2 or 3 days a week Drogheda to Swords and back so I am half looking at bikes for the job.

I am leaning towards a Vstrom / Versys 650 type of thing. Have ridden neither but have ridden SVs and ERs. Prefer the ER but maybe thats irrelevant.

Ive only about 4K so it probably rules out the 1000's?

Anyway opinions on vstrom vs versys of the 4k euro era.

Last night I came across a tiger 800. I had never even thought of one and that deffo looks like an option too. Opinions please

Leaving out the varadero purely based on hearing the others are miles ahead.... ?

» Ducati V2S
Aug 09, 2023 - 8:44 AM - by evok

The Ducati V2S has been grabbing my attention recently and having never owned a Ducati, I am curious as to what peoples opinions are. Bearing in my mind that other than a Triumph Speed Triple all of my bikes over the last 32 years have been Japanese

while I know Ducatis have made huge improvements in terms of service schedules, reliability etc., and not being based near a Ducati dealership I would been keen to hear peoples experiences and thoughts
