Alright Lads,

Looking at getting a tinted visor for the summer, helmet is an AGV K3-sv. Looking on the visor shop, they want €75 which seems steep for a bit of plastic. Race visors have them for a similar price.
I see some on Ebay but they're coming from china and don't even ask for sizing so no high hopes there..

Anyone picked one up from another website without issues?

Cheers for any replies

Mar 20, 2019 - 10:42 AM - by SandR
Hi everyone,

Do you know if Lidl/Aldi always have the torque wrenches on sale? Can't find this info on their web pages. I'm hoping these aren't just on sale occasionally.

Thank you.

» R1- Handlebar conversion kit?
Mar 19, 2019 - 9:29 PM - by dar_dc
Evening all

Seeking some information regarding conversion kits available for the R1 (04). And if anyone has converted clip ons to handlebars on their Own bike or know of anyone who has..

Reason for doing so is the forward lean is too much for my wrist/ hands leaving them go completly numb after only a few miles..
I understand the R1 lean is around 37degrees so would be looking to reduce a fair bit..
I love everything about the bike and miss the time not spent out on it so I'd rather try get suitable conversion kit than to sell/ trade for upright position bike..

Sites I have been searching are,

» New Bike After Passing Test - Long post
Mar 19, 2019 - 4:18 PM - by TuneR
So i passed my test about in mid February on my friends VFR800, had a thread up here about the number plate as i was worried it was too small. It was fine, only recommendation tester made about the bike was the rear brake light as it needed good lever pressure to activate the light. Didn't think he'd catch that but he decided to test the brakes while i was putting my gear back on.

I got lucky with the weather for the test day as the day before was awful and i had a pretest so was out practising. The day i went in to Limerick for the pretest it hailed, it rained, it was single digit temperatures all day and the heated grips on my friends bike were for show only it seemed! My new winter gloves did well but were bulkier and played on my wrist/grip so i called it a day shortly... [Read More]

» Enduro Lanzarote - Highly recommended
Mar 19, 2019 - 11:55 AM - by rebelBusa
Hi lads, Just got back from Lanzarote, thought I'd give this guy a mention.
I've never been off-road, and this is probably the most fun I've had with my pants on

Fantastic day out with instructor Paul. In fairness, a great instructor, very relaxed and sets the pace to your ability. This was my first time off road, but it didn't take long to get up to speed. He takes you on the easier trails first and builds the difficulty gradually. We covered 97km in the 3 hours, 99% off road. Lanzarote is feckin beautiful, has a lot of dirt tracks, and we also did a mixture of sand tracks and... [Read More]

Has anyone got one of theses and are they worth buying?

» Shop with the big windows
Mar 16, 2019 - 1:05 PM - by Meepmeep
Popped into the shop with the big windows yesterday. They've done a job in there. Seems like extra retail space, utilised better etc.

I did notice they didn't seem to have any Suzuki machines in there (I think!?). For instance, a few months ago the new Gixer 1000 had pride of place along with some others. Thinking back today, I don't think I saw any Suzukis at all.

Large amount of space, relatively speaking, allocated to scooters and electric variants too.

Mar 14, 2019 - 11:18 AM - by the dessert fox
Went to start the 916 yesterday and found the Motobatt battery had lost it's amps. Had it on charge a couple of days prior to the start, plus twice over the course of the winter to keep it fresh. Hasn't been cold either and the battery is new enough. I know a permanent float charge is better, but I'm still kinda pissed off. Reckon the original Yuasa was a damn sight more robust.
Anyone try to recover one of these batts?

Mar 14, 2019 - 9:11 AM - by SandR

I just ordered a crimping tool/set with a crimping range of AWG22-16.
I need to buy typical motorcycle electrical cables in a few colors (say red, blue, black, yellow/green).
What's the best place to get a meter or two of each color at a sane price?

Thank you.

» Opinions on the Ducati Scrambler
Mar 14, 2019 - 2:27 AM - by elmo
Hey lads,

I've been off the bike for about 2 years now after selling my Street Triple R. To be honest, the reason why I sold the Triumph was I had a significant injury and between that and my lack of control over my right hand (throttle not wanking) I was worried I was going to make it worse! Loved it.

I want to get back on a bike for a 15k commute in and out of the city.

I'm a big fan of classic style/naked bikes. I have been considering things like the Scrambler/Bonneville after looking at the Royal Enfields and Heralds and coming to the conclusion that they were poor.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on the Cafe Racer Scrambler but wanted to know any experienced feedback. It has a good power to weight ratio, a driving position... [Read More]

VRT about €130, but if I have to pay VAT, that's gonna be 4-figures!

Apart from trying to rack up 2000 miles in less than a month...what are the options?

» Portimao track event 29th to 31st March
Mar 13, 2019 - 11:55 AM - by gtabc
A group of us are attending a No Limits track event in Portimao on 29th to 31st March. Due to unforeseen circumstances one of our group of 20 is unable to attend and is keen to find a replacement. We are looking for someone who can hold their own in the Advanced group who would be interested in joining us for this event. The cost including 3 days on track and 4 nights accommodation is € 1100 (Excluding flights). The catch however is that whoever is interested needs to be ready to go as loading of the bikes is this Saturday 16th March in the Swords area in Dublin. If you are keen and are able commit immediately then please PM me so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

» Insuring another person on my bike
Mar 12, 2019 - 5:35 PM - by sub zero
How's it going lads.

Just wanted to ask a quick question about insurance and putting someone else on your policy.

My brother is coming home from the UK for a few days but has no way of getting around so I said I'd try put him on my bike policy. I rang CN last week just to see if it was possible and they raised no red flags and told me how much it would cost. Fast forward to this evening and rang the fuckers to pay the charge and now they tell me they won't cover him - that he has to be resident here for 6 months of the year!

My question is - is there any of the other insurers that would allow this or do they all have the same attitude?
