Pitch your tent at the back of a pub or whatever in the town on the same weekend. You can't be banned from an entire town for an entire weekend. It's not China we live in

""""IRELAND BIKEFEST 2018 - KILLARNEY"""""

Franklin Motorcycles regret to advise all our friends and customers we will not be attending Bikefest in Killarney this year.

We have been advised the Indian brand is not welcome to participate in this Irish Motorcycle Fest due to "contractual agreement "with another brand that have the "rights" to sell motorcycles and motorcycle parts.. However there are other makes exhibiting .

This to us seems a very strange decision as "competition and choice " is good for Irish consumers. Considering the brand has so much Irish heritage we also feel it is the wrong decision..

Franklin Motorcycles wish all who are attending the festival to have a wonderful time and it is a great success and hope maybe next year the organisers will see it fit to have the iconic brand of Indian Motorcycle at the festival in 2019 for all of Irish Bikers to see.

Best wishes
Franklin Motorcycles

That's some load of codswallop that one marque can pull a stunt like that.

I just braved bookface to find what you're talking about.

I doubt there's anything you can do about it. Harley Davidson have spat their dummy out and insisted that you're not allowed to show your bikes off, just in case any of their customers decide to jump ship.

If it's bothering you that much, set up outside the venue, with a massive banner stating what massive bellends Harley Davidson are for excluding your brand from the show.

I Think the organisers have to make up their mind now its either IS Bikefest and they let all brands show theirs wares which in my opinion would grow the hole event and it could become a even biger event or stick Harleyfest and stick to the festival route.

Dont personally like either bikes Indians or Harley's, so no axe to grind

Harley Davidson sponsor an event, they pay good money for the opportunity to promote their wares and associate their product with a major biking festival in Ireland, and some other company objects that they should have an equal right to promote their wares without paying for the sponsorship?
Sorry to the guys in Indian but what did they really expect.

As it is Indian now complaining that they cant compete in a Harley sponsored event, sounds too much like sour grapes. It would be like the Liverpool complaining that there are no Liverpool shirts being sold at Old Trafford

Why dont Indian start their own sponsored festival in a part of the country that doesn't already have a major biking event? They get to decide who benefits from their funding for the event and all bikers benefit from having another biking festival to attend. Everybody wins.
