Thanks

Hard to find in good nick.
They come up from time to time but there are two in dealers at present looking 3k... sign of the times when people are going mad for 28year old 250cc jap bikes ( although they are awesome!)

Theres a clean mc19 in retro bikes dublin.
City spares seem to get a few through their doors but alot are far from clean.

It seems they come in need restoration for buttons or clean for large enough asking price.

Good luck with the search.
Few lads on here may know of some.

Yeah i know they're popular. Don't expect a minter, dont mind work but just hoping for something that hasnt been butchered.
Who knows, someone may have something in a shed! Never hurts to ask.

Are you still looking?

I have one I'd like to get rid of. It was running fine, but I stopped using it when a couple of exhaust studs broke and I have a 900rr as a main bike.

Issues:

* Not great cosmetically, but not a total shitbox
* Exhaust studs have about half an inch sticking out, so maybe a welded nut will do it
* Starter squeels a bit when the engine catches, but never had an issue with it
* Needs a new fuel line. I replaced it, but it's not good enough
* Runs a bit rougher when cold, valve clearances probably need doing

Good tyres, battery, chain/sprockets, original indicators & exhaust, brakes should be good but I haven't looked in a while. Besides the exhaust studs it would be an easy project, and I have replacement studs.

I've had it years, and it was my brother's before that.

I'm in Dublin 15. I've no idea what it's worth, but decent running bikes seem to be 1400ish+. Does €800 sound reasonable? It's 1992 and the mileage isn't very high. I think I have it since 2011 and the bro had it for years before that.

I'll get some pics posted once this poxy weather permits

I have one but I would not entertain anything less than a 1000 euro for it,between what I paid for it (absolute bargain) van rental, diesel, new battery, brake pads etc... it stands me near enough 1k so price would not be negotiable.
it's a 99 maroon colour in good condition, needs a bit of tidy up with electrics, engine seems strong in it, only took 5 minutes to get it fired up when I got it and it had been in storage for over a year.
bought it of a member here with a nut and bolt restoration in mind but some money/health issues have been in the way the last 12 months so I don't mind passing it on to someone with the bit of time for it.
all fairings original.
I have no pics at the moment as it is buried in the garage but will dig it out if any genuine interest.
for 1k I doubt very much that you could find better than this one

Is that your one Johnny? That's a cracking looking bike! I'm repairing mine at the minute after an off last year hopefully it'll look decent when I'm finished. Not a full restoration though - haven't got the time or the skills!

Yep tis mine, was a wreck when I got it.
Pretty much a full resto, all bearings, seals, engine out, valve clearabces, clutch and steel plates, powder coared wheels, stainless exhaust, carbs were cleaned 4 times...they are feckers when not right, all cables, callipers rebuilt, braided lines and so much more I couldnt write it all.

After I did it up first I sold it soon after but chased it down again last year... still a good way to spent the winter.

Its still a project, 28 years old now so a few bits always to do.
19000 rpm is some craic though!

That carbon exhaust is swapped out for an original so I would sell it if anyone is interested 50e.

Where did you get the stainless downpipes can I ask ya? I've cleaned mine and painted them but they're slowly but surely rusting away. You did a cracking job man fair play to you! Wish I had the skills for a full restoration!

Oh and did you get the seats retrimmed and if so where did you get them done? Wouldn't mind getting mine done at some stage. Sorry for all the questions but it's nice to be able to pick someones brains about this stuff. It's hard enough to get parts for these babys now!

I found them on Ozy ebay, they are shipped from china so they are chinese, apart from Japanese aluminium full systems (hens teeth) or new standard pipes from cmsl these are the only option.
The last owner put them on after the steel ones died!
