Don't think any bike shops do gear finance here. I did see it on a few UK web shops. You would go for higher spec gear.

I might be barking up the wrong tree but "Oh please help us, we're not allowed into Harleyfest", followed by "Buy our helmets" looks like a load of spamming bullshit to me.

Dunno, the importer has a valid reason why they weren't allowed to display their bike range at the Bike Fest earlier in the thread.

As for buying a new lid, I'd phone around for a good price and probably start with a bike shop in Armagh (who I know well from the road racing and puts a lot back into the sport), flowed by Pento/Crossons/Megabikes/Franklin

Price fixing is a very serious criminal offence. Are you saying that
Shoei and/or their distributors are telling you what prices you
should charge? See section 4 of: Competion Act 2002.

Many companies won't allow you publish discounted prices online....it's hardly price fixing now is it?

My view on a company that advertises and doesn't publish their price is that when you ring you will be hit high, and depending on you're reaction and how good your haggling skills, that's what will determine your purchase price. So it's basically a method of getting as much money as possible out of you, rather than just publishing a price and getting that price.

Love how some lads try to reinvent the wheel here and try to make this a thing of being nice or not...

Rules of the forum apply for everyone, and among those rules is the fact of posting price, simple as that.

I'm sure that Shoei will allow them to post list prices, he can then opt to say or not the biker discount.

For me, personal or business, not posting the price is just bad form and raises a red flag... what's the secret? Complete waste of time for both parties. Specially when selling premium items that nobody really "needs", you just have to appeal to the "want"...

If prices are good, post them and tempt people. If I ring and get dissapointed by the price I'm most likely not to ring or consider the shop again.

If prices are competitive and I see it here, even if I'm not looking to buy a helmet now, I'll definitely consider the shop for future purchases.

A simple thing can make it or break it now these days.

If you want the old school ring or show up for prices, then don't be on the webs, advertise on print papers spend a fortune on it so nobody will ever read it...

OR, have it here for free reach far more people and a truly specific crowd.

In other words... fuck ring for price, welcome to XXI century boys.
