Motorbike: sv1000s, gsxr 1000
Default Suzuki gsxr 1000 k3-k4?

Anyone have this bike? I currently have sv1000s but thinking of getting the k3-k4 model as k5 and up are double the price. I have seen a few of them on dd for example

https://www.donedeal.ie/motorbikes-f...-1000/17966200

Should I be wary of bikes that are on donedeal for 10-20 days+? Like why wouldn't they sell it? I've seen a few of them on the road, are they are good bike in general or is it worth saving up and getting a k5+? I ride around 10-15 000 km per year.

The weather's been brutal, bad time to be selling bikes when it's snowing etc!

Bit of a difference in riding position in a sv and a gsxr doing that mileage.

Iv a k3 and say go for it :) test drove a k5 and coudnt justify the extra price range ( supposedly a better bike) i clicked onto that one you posted about 2 weeks ago i think the price is why its not sold :) got mine for half that off a dealer with warranty and hasnt missed a beat

if you are willing to give 4k for a k3/k4 then save another 2 to 2.5 grand and get a k7/k8.....few on done deal.....don't mind all the hype about a k5/k6.....its who's riding it that matters...I have owned 6 gsxr 1000's and couldn't fault any....

Not willing to pay that amount, my budget is around 3500 max. I have seen few good examples under 3k in Northern Ireland and UK. Some with 30k+ miles but look in almost perfect condition.

That gsxr in Galway looks to have a twisted sub frame. There's def something up with the tail of it. Middling enough looking yoke. Maybe in the flesh it might not be too bad,and the tail looking off might just be loose plastics. Only one way to know and that's go look. I always judge a bike by it's surroundings too,and on that alone I'd avoid.

It's the plastic as the lug on left hand side is broke where it bolts on the rider seat, big washer will sort it out

Well, a k5 appeared 10km from my house and I stretched my budget and bought it, was a beautiful example. Will post pics later. Thanks everyone for the help. I absolutely love the bike and I can't stop riding it now with a massive smile on my face. Quality compared to sv1000s is night an day.
