read-this Wiper for helmet visor :

Detachable (hopefully not at high speed), I suppose if it wasn't mad money it would be worth having in a tank bag for everyday bikers/commuters ;

Word on the street is that Hickman has a stash to test out at this years TT, where its promised to lash rain for two weeks.

It doesn't exist. If you look closely at the mounting system,
you will see why it never will exist.

^ Why so .. some kind of adhesive / double sided tape stuff to stick it to the top of the visor seems a straightforward enough job - no ?

It isn't easy to spot because of the sleight-of-hand in the
'demo' video. They are mounted using a pair of screws.
Drilling holes in type approved and E marked visors is
a ridiculous suggestion. As you say, it might be possible
to mount it using a GoPro-style adhesive pad. I doubt it
would be stable enough because of the limited space at
the top edge of the visor. That just leaves you with the
other obvious problem. A wiper would make shite of your
expensive visor in a very short time.

Anyway, it's only a concept at the moment. I wouldn't be
buying one until they are in production and have been
independently tested/reviewed.

Re: Wiper for helmet visor :

Its never going to work.

Even if they got over the technical problems of actually getting the wipers to wipe cleanly and without having to modify/drill holes/put screws in your helmet the wiper would be so close to your eyes that I cant see how they wouldn't be a serious hazard if not lethal to use.
In a cage the wipers are a good bit from you eyes so they wont interfere with your focusing at distance, on a helmet they would be so close to you eyes it would be hard to focus on anything but the wipers once they are operating.

The spinning disk is used on ships, and does work, but there is a air gap so the noise in your helmet would probably be deafening at any reasonable speed.

I keep asking her the same thing.

Whatever happened to the spinning/centrifugal visors? I used to use one for karting back in the 80s, and they worked fine.

Didnt spot that

I think you're right about the bigger downside too - making shite of your expensive plastic visor is a wee bit of a drawback.

and more prone to cracking? might also have an effect on visor integrity in a spill?
