Or when was the BMW flat twin "boxer" engine first used on a road/army bike ?

Yeah 1923 was when they made the first Boxer R32 BMW bike, but when I was double checking me answer ....
I found out that the very first BMW engine (M2B15) was used by other manufacturers - mostly "Victoria of Nuremberg" and "SMV" ... never heard of that before.
It was a 500cc capacity and was made in 1920. Also the designer, Max Friz, designed the engine in just four weeks.
