Thanks, does sound a bit suspect alright (I blame motomax.ie website for that info, have transalp 400 as 5 not 6 as well), will check bbg when I get home and amend :)

Okay googled and it's a 10

None of the grp 12's were listed, safe to say anything remotely interesting is of course AXA grp 12.

Bikeworld.ie also publish AXA insurance groups in their 'New Bikes' section.

By looking at irish dealer's websites (got some from bbg website).
www.goreybikes.com
www.motomax.ie (though their listings a bit unreliable!)
www.brayhondacentre.com (they had the correct sv group)
Also will fill in more from Bike Buyers Guide listings. The problem with their list is that it only covers new bikes officially sold on the irish market, so no imports/older bikes.

Might be a fly in the ointment for my list. Do dealers general list AXA or CN groups? Or do they both operate off the same list?

Forgot about broke world, will add some more listings. Man, it's quiet at work today :sleep1:

all wrong, the GS500 is group 7 and the NC30 is group 11, the firestorm is group 14, the B12 is group 15, the VFR is group 17.

the only half way reliable site for these grouping is here, go to bike reviews and then into the buy-a-bike database - this is the only site officially endorsed by CN

Spoonman, you are referring to CN ins groups. The original poster refers to Hibernian/AXA ins groups.

Will actually the original poster subtitled the post CN insurance groups  He will probably edit it now :whistling:

So AXA go on a scale to 12 and CN use the same scale here as in UK? Handy link that so, bike reviews and all .

Ahem...looks like you got the two groups interwoven somehow

Wish I was getting AXA insurance group at the equivalent CN price...i.e. my AXA group 12 ZX9R insured for the equivalent CN group 12 CB500 or sumfin:P

At least it occupied a quiet morning...

If CN use the same groupings here as in UK, that link spoonman had is all I need to know. From the bikes I know it seems to check out. I think the list I wrote are the right AXA groupings now..maybe

@techie, CN was mentioned in the original post aswell and they're the groupings i'm sure of - apologies for any confusion.

note: the majority of the ins groupings on that site are correct but there are a few errors such as the SP1 being listed as group 14 instead of group 17

on another line, i'm still a tad doubtful about some of those AXA groupings.

CB500 (unless that's a super4 rather than a twin or something...) in the same group as the PAN??? ...they're not great but they're not *that* slow... :P

most of the others look ok though although i had expected that AXA would carry of HIB's groupings but it doesn't appear that they have.
