Default Akra slip on for s1000rr.... worth it?

Hey

Mate got a slipon for his R1200 and now I'm jelly!

Thinking of getting one. I like this:

Guts of 600 though

Is it worth it?

Opinions???

Depends. Ive heard an s1000rr with akra and decat and was obnoxiously loud. Stock can on them isnt too offensive looking and you cant nip along at fair pace without attracting loads of attention before you even come into view of the plod. Akras are classy though so out of aftermarket prob the best.

for awesome sound go for it - may give you an extra 5hp ... as if the S1000rr needs it....

Slip on alone will add a some better sound and better looks, all subject to your own taste...

Myself, I love a good akra. Have one on my GS as well and with the muffler out it adds some savage burble which I love.

Slip-on wont add any considerable power and you wont have to flash... if you do decat+slipon, that's another ball game and you'll have to flash and consider intake as well.

Have the SC project slip on for my S1000rr love it, but my christ its one seriously loud bike with it! really looks the job too.

I was on my mates cbr he has an after market can also and he was on my bmw he was at least 3 cars ahead of me and when he went for the overtake I couldnt even hear the cbr i was sitting on over the sound of it.

Have went through check points with it no bother just dont start letting it pop and bang!

Wont be taking out the CAT.
My opinions are changing on the whole climate thing so will be leaving it in.

Purely as aesthetics / noise thing.
I love the look of the motogp style exhaust.

If you're flush and have the cash then get it if that's what you want. If it was me I'd rather spend the 600 quid on track days or a long weekend in wales or scotland next year.

If you are going to the NEC next wekend/next week then you will pick up a good deal on a new slip on over there.

AR is very expensive though, and you will do well to get say 10% off them.

Racefit will be at the show and they are easy to deal with.

Yes do , I had an m4 system on my blade when I bought it and even with the baffle in , it would leave your ears ringing ,
Iv since sold the m4 and replaced it with an akrapovic and it sounds sweet , the blade doesn't keep the cat when u replace the slip on so , race fit etc might not be too bad on the s1000rr with the cat still in place

De cat the s1000rr and leave the stock can in place.

Do that...save money and you can thank me later.
