Default Speed Van bollox

Apologies if this has been asked before, I passed a sneaky speed van on the Navan road today at around 15-20kph over the limit.

I've never been done for speeding on a bike before but one of the feckers got me in the work van once, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but do the speed vans have camera's at the front so it catches a vehicles rear plate or does it just have cameras that catch an approaching vehicle?

They have one camera that points out the back window but they can do both sides of the road.
Only way to be done on a bike would be to speed past the van

I'm fairly sure they may have you.
Caught me in Athy last year, pic of my back, unless you slowed right down before passing.
Next time your passing a van, have a look up high on the side of the van is a dome type camera, I think these are for speeders approaching from the the front.

You'd be very unlucky to get a ticket...I wouldn't worry about it....make sure you slow right down when you pass one the next time....just to be sure

The cameras on the side and front of the vans are just cctv because the vans were being set alight by retards

i'm only going to fucking say this once.
The camera faces out the back of the van,
target distance is between 30 and 60 metres(even a little less)
from the back of said van.
so any one that gets done their pretty much a
fucking thick.

They only have a speed camera that points out the back window. The pod cameras on the side and the front window camera are for operator safety only. The back window camera can see both sides of a road, so cages coming towards the rear of the van on the van' s side of the road or away from the van on the opposite side of the road can both be caught. However, because bikes only have a rear plate they can only be caught in 1 way;
Going away from the back of the van on the opposite side of the road from where the van is parked, in other words where the rear of the van can see the rear of your bike.
If your tax disc accidentally slips down over the plate you have perverted the course of justice, shame on you.

I got done about 2 years ago.
I passed a speed van that was hidden on the opposite side of the road.
Camera was pointing out the back as it normally is, so he got me as I drove away from him.
