Default Question about tabards:)

Hi all, getting my bike on the road near the end of the month.

Couple of quick questions:)

The L Tabard..
I know you have to wear one, im having an issue finding one first off, I think a company named Oxford make one, is that the only one available or is there one that is slightly less intrusive?? Which ones do you use.

Also after passing the test are you legally required to wear the N tabard for two years or?

Thanks
Harry

thanks for the reply, is it a standard tabard then or can you get different ones?

are you allowed to make it a bit less noticeable by for example wearing a backpack?

thanks

Yeah no worries.
It'll only be a few quid.

It's under the seat on the bike I'll take a look in the morning for size but it's not small

I was told if you hold a full licence in another category theres no need to wear the N vest after passing the test.

Those Oxford ones are shit. After less than 2 years the elastics on the sides disintegrated, and I had to superglue the reflective bands as well as one of the sides that was now lose due to the broken elastics. I remember the examiner telling me "here, I will give you a neeeew tabard"

There's no size on this but it comfortably fits over my winter gear with bags of space.
Text on your address if you want it.
Sure if it doesn't fit no harm. Bin it. I won't be needing it.

Lads I got this reply from head of RSA

A person granted a first full driving licence on or after 1st August 2014 must display N-plates on the vehicle for a period of 2 years, and during that period display N-plates on any other vehicle in respect of which they get a driving licence. Where the vehicle is a motorcycle, the rider must wear an N tabard.

The novice period applies only once i.e. someone who holds a driving licence for a category of vehicle and who after a period of two years becomes entitled to drive another category, does not become a novice in respect of the new category. Therefore if you have held a full licence for over two years, you are not required to display N tabard.

Regards

If you've a driving licence on another vehicle older than 2 years your grand.
I have never seen anyone wearing the N tabbard.
I've seen bugger all wearing the L tabbard unless on test.
