Looking to get something bigger than my gb500, limited in what I can insure as I only passed my test a while ago, seen an f800r in the local bike shop and thought it could do the job

Nice engine, good finish, well screwed together, heated grips and modern predictable handling despite (relatively) cheap suspension components. The later models with abs and traction control are more refined and some have electronic damping adjustment on the rear shock. The f800s has a fairing with a very effective screen and often comes with boxes or luggage which is useful.

Servicing and maintenance are simple but I've only ever heard of one major engine failure so they are reliable for a BMW. Buy it right and you won't lose a lot over a few years if you look after it.

If you can insure a Triumph Street Triple 675 you're in for a treat...
Thats what I got after passing my test
