Default Pen1S.com return to North West 200 after three-year break

Rico Penzkofer’s Penz13.com BMW team will return to the Fonacab North West 200 in May after a three-year break.

The squad will field Davey Todd, Daley Mathison and Finnish newcomer Erno Kostamo, who hails from the Imatra area.

It will be a hectic start to the international road racing season for the German team as they will be competing in the International Road Racing Championship round at Hengelo in the Netherlands on the weekend prior to the North West.
”We have pulled together a strong line-up with Erno, Daley and Davey,” said Penzkofer. “It will be a very challenging task with half of the team at Hengelo and the other half in Slovakia just two days before the first North West practice session.

“But it’s great to be back at the North West 200 for the 90th anniversary as it was my first international road race when we founded the team back in 2008.”
Kostamo added:
“I usually like the very fast and open tracks and the North West seems very similar to my home track in Imatra. It is an event I have always wanted to race in and I am delighted that the Penz13 team have given me this opportunity.”

Go for it Gav and do it on a bike. Great roads up to it and in the general area.
Been going years on the bike. and the spin up and back is worth it alone.
We go up the Thursday, home on Sunday.

And also keep in mind, we on this Island have two of the three biggest road races in the world on our doorstep, on our bloody doorstep lads.
...no ferries, no flights, just point your bike North. We all should be there at both NW200 & UGP every year. Every biker should be at both these events. How lucky are we, we can ride to both events. isn't that what's it's all about???
I find it shocking more don't go.

Don`t forget your entry permit when you head up north this year. Or will your ins be valid.
