That does look clean alright... but bear in mind that pics with the right light can make bikes look prettier....

If you really like it, it's only a 6 hours round trip. Make a road trip out of it with a few friends and ride it back... 100% do-able. I've done it plenty of times bringing bikes from Dub to Cork.

Far away?

I bought & shipped my last bike from Westchester, New York in December.

Won't even see the fuckin' thing in the flesh until the end of this month.

Re: Why are the nice bikes so far away!!!

Bike is still Available. Honda recommends that the valve service be done. However they do this to cover themselves. Only bikes that have been thrashed or raced need this done. Mine has never been touched because the valve clearance is perfect. I'm sure you're not interested because of this.

Got the above reply when asking aboit the vfr on DD. Why would you assume I wouldn't be interested, it's like he doesn't want the sale?? Also, how important is the valve service??

Valve clearances are about 350e for one of them so agree a price before you travel.
You need a special tool to do them.

Plenty of nice bikes closer to home.
What are the new shape vtec going for in England?

They get a great write up the new ones.

I've seen vfr1200s for 4500e lately with full luggage.
Keep your options open.

The vtec is a great bike, brakes are a bit meh but a great commuter or tourer.

Re: Why are the nice bikes so far away!!!

Don't know where to look in the UK that's reliable, never bought something there but would be open to it. 4500 is my limit really. So new shape vfr is out of reach I'd say.

Auto trader and ebay.
Most bike shops are main dealers etc.
I have bought over the phone and in my experience all the bikes I've got are exactly as described.
I used Ted's trucking to transport for about 350e from the shop to my door.
Only thing about the UK is they drop feck all off the price maybe 100pounds.
But all give at least a 3 month warranty.

Have you driven a vfr?
They are nice but not everyone's cup of tea.
Bad points are they are top heavy, stupid combined brakes, and difficult to work on.

Good points are they are a rocket ship, comfy enough and economical if your not ham fisted.

Double Check if there's any extra charges importing since brexit.

Cheers folks, have had a vfr before, that's why I'm keen on one. Love the v4 sound, nice riding position, single side swing arm looks tasty.

Sounds like he's feed up with time wasters on the good auld DD. Not that you're one, but it's a very common practice on that site.

Give him a call, that will give you a better feel for it and he'll probably be more accessible if he sees you have real interest but just concern about traveling the distance. Also, you can ask him to send you a few videos on whatsapp to see more details, etc...

That to me is far easier than bringing something from the UK, but having said that bringing something over is handy enough just takes more time/coordination and blindfold trust on what you're buying. By the time you get it, it's too late.

He's talking shite. Valve clearances need doing if and when they need doing, not when someone who doesn't know his ars e from his elbow decided they might need doing.

Just Saw that on DD, don't like the shape bit hard to argue the value! They belt driven or something? Don't know if I'd get insurance on a 1200 though as I've no NCB, been off bikes three years now.

Shaft driven.
That is by far the best colour.
They look nicer in the flesh.
Check insurance bet be quick that will sell like a hot cake!

I'd snap that up if I didn't just buy something else the other week.
