Stickers or paint?

It's that time of year again where I treat myself to some bike related opulence.
Last year I got a seat cowl for the bike, it tidies up the shape nicely. Alas, it's plain black plastic so two issues for me.

(1) It's prone to scratches.
(2) It's dull.

I was going to buy one of these stickers to protect and brighten it up a bit:

But almost 30 sterling for a fucking sticker??? (when P&P is added)
Now I'm wondering if I'd be better off trying to get the cowl painted? Anyone recommend someone that can put this onto the cowl and match the paint to the original on the bike?

Try a local signwrighting or printers for the sticker, they can download your pictures.
