Track Days

When is the next one, and what are they like with relatively inexperienced riders?

I am looking for somewhere to explore the bike a little bit in a safe manner.
Are track days full of knobs acting the prick or are they friendly with newbies.

Also, would a track day be much wear and tear on the bike?

Re: Track Days

Yeh man do the training, I did one recently on a zx6r too, after the track day training. Also if you want to learn don't do what I did and try go fast (high-sided her), ride at 70% and practice techniques, get an instructor to lead you out. Enjoy!

Yes there are knobs but they tend to be in the advanced group...

How do you know they are men? They could be LGBTQQIP2SAA+. That's not a joke, that's what they are calling themselves now apparently , it's easier at this stage to just say you identify as a letter of the alphabet

Re: Track Days

I self identify as an attack helicopter on even days, and a FZ6 on odd ones.

You could do the introduction course, or, if you have a little confidence, do a full trackday in the novice group, ask the marshalls/instructors for their help, they're good lads and will show you around at a pace comfortable for you, and they really won't mind you asking...

Re: Track Days

As for wear and tear, not a problem at all on a modern bike, the only thing you will seriously wear out, but only as you get fairly quick, are your tyres...
