I'd love something like the ZXR to be tinkering at as a project.

Re: Lockdown spannering

When this kicked off I thought I'd have loads of time for the bikes
but between working and getting to all the jobs the war office has been finding it's not happening
I've a clutch for the ZXR since before christmas
Just today I got a part I was searching for to finish the F5 so hopefully that'll be sorted soon.
Then I'll try and have another stab at the LC.
After all that I'll get into the KR1S.
Somewhere in between I'll need to find the time to clock up a few miles on the other yokes.
Haven't even mentioned the GPz

Re: Lockdown spannering

Got the old Suzuki GS 425 up & running the other day after it's annual hibernation. Waiting on a few small electrical bits for the MZ to arrive & hopefully that will be up & running soon as well. Most frustrating thing of all is that I've only put 1100 kms up on the NC 750 since I got it in January

Haha, so did I. Same year and all.

I've no projects unfortunately so I'm just doing everything I can think of to my bike. Most of the jobs it doesn't really need!

Re: Lockdown spannering

started off doing a little tinkering on my vtr and ended up with the engine and swingarm on the stand after a few hours, stripped all of it and put it back together again, surprisingly needed only a few small bits like a silicon vac hose and a oil pressure sender, oh and a respray which i didnt intend to do but i did one panel to match the rest and ended up having to do all the panels to match as it was so much tidier with fresh paint on one panel it made the rest of the panels look shite.......... couple of odds and ends fitted to my srad too including poly cush drives, titanium nuts and slightly shorter dogbones and stripping the wp rear shock and cleaning it. one thing i will recommend is a good zinc plating setup, makes those old nasty bolts and nuts look tidy again after plating and polishing.

I had one also, back in 1994. the only new vehicle I have owned in 25+ years on the road, the last bike I drove as a learner, the only 2 stroke. Same engine as the old NS 125 F I think. Just without their exhaust power valve thingy.
Grand learner bike, quite user friendly for a 2 stroke. Even carried a few pillion now and then.
Bounced it off the road on a wet morning while racing a colleague to work in his cage. Took all the skin off my knees. Owa! Traded it when I passed by test in the UK.

Restoring this little bike, it's the combo of three ns125s.
Two of which I have owned for nearly 20years and in bits for 17😂.

Nearly looking as good as this one below.

All Iíll say is stripping an FCR carb is almost in the same league as stripping a complete bike

Thankfully it all went back together and works
