Re: Suicidal Birds

I see you have the ABS model - Anti Bird System.

I bought a brand new Shoei XR1000 a few years ago, had the lid a week before absolutely milling a pigeon stone dead whilst on a poker run. Just caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye before impact. Bird shit, blood, guts, feathers and some weird white kinda dust plastered across the whole front. Lid was perfect after washing all the crap off it but my neck was fucking killing me the next day. Not sure if it was the force of the impact or me tensing up before headbutting the bastard into oblivion.

That dust is produced by the feathers to keep them soft and smooth.
Iím constantly milling them out of it in the truck , always a big cloud of feathers left behind lol and a pile of white dust on the windscreen

That seems a much more plausible explanation than my theory that pigeons are the coke heads of the wild, milling around the place off their tits on the ole devils dandruff thinking they're invincible and picking fights with anything that moves.

Re: Suicidal Birds

I got a bat in the face once. Visor half open at night, sliced him in 2 with the edge of it. Thought it was a huge moth as he was flying towards me first, until I had to remove the bits from the lid.

Took a pigeon to the neck one afternoon riding through the Phoenix Park.

Rotten thing got tangled for longer then I'd like (about 2 seconds). Same as you I got covered in this rank fine dust/powder as well as pidgeon scower all over my jacket.

I was fairly fresh to biking and almost took a tumble.

Wouldn't like to hit any bird at motorway speed. Even a little one.
