Default Powdercoat or paint wheels....how much and where?

Ok lads n lasses, the time has come to get the 996 wheels either painted or powder coated.
Thinking of changing from the oem grey colour to a nice black colour.

What is best......powdercoat or paint for wheels?

Ive used Tallaght Powder Coating before for a race cage roll cage and for small parts for my R1.

So what are they like for bike wheels?
What sort of price should I expect aswell?

Thanks.

Yeah, tallaght pc, they do a lot of bike stuff, and my crash bars were still perfect after 3 yrs of everyday use when I go t them done, still looked new. ( get new bearings if you getting the wheels done, but you prob know what ).

For me its definitely paint for wheels. I never do powder coat for wheels. due to the heating process and the fact that you have to grind it all away at the bearing holder to fit new bearings.
Thats my 5cents worth.

Its easier/cheaper touch up wheels again if they get damaged changing tyres every year..

not if the PC crowd are worth their salt - they mask off threads and any high tolerance parts like bearing sockets.

fwiw i found carlow coatings to be superior than tallaght, and are very reasonable on price

If you are getting the wheels powder coated leave the old bearings in, tap them out afterwards then fit the new ones
