Default Re: How often to you change bikes?

Bikes are generally cheaper and easier to move than cages and you can get real bargains for perfectly good bikes which might even allow you to keep more than one if you have the space and money.

Nothing wrong with that!

There has been no real big advance in technology except for the last few years where electronics have really taken over. But other than that, as they said before the average rider wouldn't use more than 30/40% of the bike potential so it's all up to what makes you feel more comfortable and confident.

I loved life when I had two bikes, pick the sports bike on the good days and runs with the lads or the comfort and practicality for the ADV for the long trips or really shitty weather. Had to sell the sports bike due to money restraints and I'm itching to get myself something fast again, but having experienced the sports bike I'll probably give a super naked a go (if possible).

So yeah, if you can and you want... definitely go for it. You can always go back.

Do you regular changers guys sell and buy, or swap / trade in?

I've never traded a bike in, as a general rule do bike shops welcome trade-ins or (like car dealers do) view them as one would an offer of syphilis?

I'm sure most shops would take a trade in but you'd be better off selling it privately, if you don't mind putting up with Legend, ps. I love you Xs calling you because they're bored and have no mates.

I usually sell on Donedeal and get as much cash as I can but I've traded bikes in too. Most dealers will take a trade in but you'll rarely get what you think its worth. Trading in is all about convenience.

Motorbike: Yamaha Fazer 1000
Default Re: How often to you change bikes?

would change more often but can't find anything better than my fazer 1000 for what I use it! Commute, comfy 2up, good wind protection and loads of power...not too much electronics as well so not much to go wrong. Had k1300s for a month but couldn't do what fazer does. It was brill on motorway though!

Longest ever had a bike was 2years, shortest was 1 week. Change my cages just as often it’s an addiction in fact the cage is up for sale and the bike is facing the same fate. I change vehicles 2-5 times a year. Sell and buy or trade/part exchange whatever suits. Life is too short
