Default Welsh RR

Road racing will return to the UK mainland in 2018 with an all new road race set for the 4/5th August 2018 in the Brecon Beacons.

Will this really happen

sure will
The ACU are years at trying to get the law changed to allow road racing in UK
and finally got it passed last April 2017 so they are real serious about it
could be great

Great news, but is it potentially too close to the Ulster to attract any of the big names??

Great news didn't know they were that far along with it
Track looks cool with not to many hazards and its on Ministry of defence lands
so big effort and loads of man/women power to get things right at track level
looking forward to it already and hope its a big success
lots of UK lads have no where to road race so have to come to Ireland
to race
great list of sponsers too

I saw Steve Platers ''on board lap''. Which was a speeded up version of a normal pace lap , as the roads were still public.
TBH, It's boring, very fast but not a bit technical.
A lot of mentions of 'vip' areas and 'hospitality' areas' .
Not my cup of tea.

Good team running the event, reckon it'll be a goer and most likely run as a 'ticket admission' event like Scarborough/TT/Goodwood as it's remote (ish)

Looks great - looks like a tough track to memorize - as plater was saying on the commentary lots of blind crests and the larger bikes will have the front wheel off the ground for a fair chunk of the lap

Weekend camping is 75 to hire a tent, as you are not allowed to pitch your own. Weekend spectator is 42.50, plus ferry costs. Unsure if this includes price of a program.

https://www.welshroadrace.com/produc...ace-programme/

....not knocking it, but I'll stick with the domestic Nationals North n' South

I think you have read the information wrong, 75 includes admission and your camping for the weekend, it doesn't state you are not allowed pitch your own tent.
Luxury family sized tents are available from 175.

Looks like it should have plenty of viewing spots, but factor in accommodation, ferry, entrance and program its pricey in comparison to the local stuff here.
