Hey lads. New biker here. I just want to check out with ye if you know of any quiet roads around wicklow for a spin to get to know the bike. Just bought my first bike and am a little nervous on it especially cornering and going any speed over 60. I need somewhere with not too much traffic.

My advice would be get out past Laragh and Rathdrum (further south and inland). The roads are more traffic-free around Avoca, Woodenbridge, Aughrim and Tinahealy, and alot of the surfaces seem better than the roads closer to Eniskerry etc. maybe because there's less traffic....

Of course, to get to south-west wicklow you still have to get through all the other areas...

Suggest you try and get some training. There is a guy in Wicklow I did a one day course with which I found very good as I was also a beginner 18 months ago.

His name is david lyons 087 2988499.

he covers all areas but is based in wicklow town.

I think I paid about 180 for the day, may sound dear but I think it beats doing lots of 1 hour lessons.

What about a course with http://www.msa-ireland.com to get you started on the basics. its probably around the same money but could prove invaluable.
