Mt10 vs Tuono vs Superduke 1290 vs s1000r

Considering parting with my gixxer and sourcing a demo or fairly fresh hypernaked. Anyone out there with one of these weapons who could steer my in the right direction ???
Cheers

Re: Mt10 vs Tuono vs Superduke 1290 vs s1000r

Plenty of reviews online comparing the lot, anyone with just one of them will only really be able to give you feedback on that. The general consensus from watching the reviews is they are all fantastic and do different jobs better. Mt10 is good value for money. Tuono for best performance. Superduke is comfortable and usable around town etc while also the most bonkers. Bmw if you're gay.

Nice one, thatís the bmw off the list. From a reliability point of view i suppose the Yamaha should be better. The Tuono is class but not easy to get unless you buy new and the ktm is tasty but Iíve seen a couple of reviews questioning reliability.

Re: Mt10 vs Tuono vs Superduke 1290 vs s1000r

BMW is the best and i rode them all, No quick shifter on the MT-10 so that was a deal breaker for me. Duke was fantastic but the wind blast would take your head off (i'm 6,3) The tuono was great but i just though the BMW was best all round for comfort and agility.

Cheers , hoping to get a spin on the s1000 and Superduke.
Either way I'll probably have to purchase from England seems to be plenty to choose from over there.
Not many shops over here holding decent examples.

The best for you
The worst for me
All depends on your own taste!

I'd recommend trying them as they are completely different and different people want different things!

No affiliation to the shop but CCs in Kells have an SDR and S1000r in stock both 2015 models. I think RPM in Drogheda have an S1000r too. Recommend both shops.

As I said everyone will steer you in a different direction, while they are all in the supernaked class they are very different and will do different purposes better. Your best bet is to hop on each and take it for a spin. The tuono would be my pick of the lot only I would look like an elephant on it and be cursing it after a half hour.

Good stuff , had a look at ccs unlimited website. Didn't know rpm were into bike sales more servicing etc.
Which shop would you recommend for after sales service and general repair work etc ? I also have an mt07 i use for commuting... she needs a few bits done.

I've bought a bike from CCs and I know a couple of others that have too. After sales service is top class. Christy will go above and beyond to make sure you're happy and looked after. If he tells you something there's no need to get it in writing as he stands over what he says. I've not had any service or repair work done there.

RPM I've used lots of times for both repairs and routine maintenance stuff, tyres etc too. Again, very very trustworthy, Ronan wouldn't be one for bluffing or talking shite, honest as the day is long. I've also bought a few bits 'n bobs off him like gloves, boots, helmets etc. He'll do you a good deal.

Both shops are easy distance of each other so definitely pay a visit to both.

Re: Mt10 vs Tuono vs Superduke 1290 vs s1000r

Cheers lads. I suppose thereís going to be different experiences and opinions. Iíd like to buy locally for warranty reasons but thereís huge temptation and selection in the uk . Part of the appeal would be heading over and the spin back.
Iíve contacted a couple of reputable well know dealers and theyíll provide warranty as normal. As long as Brexit doesnít F**k that up....whenever that happens. Firstly Iíll head to Kells and Drogheda at the weekend.

Wes is a top lad too. Picked me up from the train station when I bought my CB1000R from him a few years back. Nice setup up there.

Re: Mt10 vs Tuono vs Superduke 1290 vs s1000r

My first choice would be the SD1290 all day long but they were scarce or out of budget this time around.

I had plans to collect a Tuono from the UK but deal fell through and I'm glad it did as they have some questionable reliability issues with them but the V4 would be pretty amazing.

The MT10 standard at least seems a bit lacking to interest me - the SP version, maybe, but almost none second hand when I went looking.

I settled for the S1000R!
