Default Where do you get your electrical wires?

Hello,

I just ordered a crimping tool/set with a crimping range of AWG22-16.
I need to buy typical motorcycle electrical cables in a few colors (say red, blue, black, yellow/green).
What's the best place to get a meter or two of each color at a sane price?

Thank you.

Thanks guys!

Wow, I dropped Halfords originally as the search didn't return anything useful for "wire". Now that you said they have it, I tried "cable" and voila, tons of good options!

A few example for future reference:
5A cable:

8A cable:

I picked up a few metres of red and black for wiring a set of LEDs for f all at an electrical wholesalers.
Motor factors wanted a mad price for the same cable.

Thats a good idea

I guess it depends on the lengths needed and how do you know you'll have enough in a loom.

yup, i always did this as well, also look out for yokes dumped in fields or at the side of the road, five minutes gets a good bit of wire plus fuses as well.

I wouldn't be able to tell say speaker cables apart from automotive cables that are suitable to be used around motorcycle batteries/electrical systems.
For me it's safer to go with Halfords, etc... that have a proper product description with max current value, etc... displayed.

This. Or any autoelectrical shop.
Cheapest way is to get a few meters of 7 core cable and strip it back. You should be able to get 7core for less than €2 metre. Less than half what Halfrauds are charging for individual wires

I use FJ Keoghs in Glasnevin industrial estate. Haven't been there in a while though.
