Default Honda Valve shims

I am going to do my valve clearances on my CBR600f.I commute on it so i need to have it wrapped over a weekend. Is there anywere in Dublin that sell the shims indiviually. If i have to i can bite the bullet and buy a full kit on ebay but it would be much cheaper to buy individual

Cheers

Got that same response off a sales guy in there a good while ago. I said sure get me a few out of the workshop and I'll sort you for them. "The workshop have none" he said Bit of a Pinocchio.

There’s a decent stock of them in Megabikes, but they are getting used on a regular basis and generally when there’s a few needed theres usually a couple that are the same size,so while the chances are good they have the ones you need, you may still get caught out...

Might actually be cheaper to buy a hot cams set?
They add up when you need to buy individually and you won't know what you need until you take measurements.
That might impact your ability to get it done over a weekend.
If you commute you might still have the bike next time the clearances are due and if you have a set you can go at it again.

The only problem with the kit is if you need 4 of the same size shim you're back to square one. Unfortunately there is no easy way unless you are willing to remove the cams twice. Once to check all the shim sizes and replace them until you get shims and out again to replace them when you get them, be glad you don't have a VFR with Vtec
Be aware the etched mark in not always exactly correct. Measure them with a micrometer to be sure, although the worst I have seen is 001 out with a 202 at 203 and a 183 at 182.

Worth checking out the owners clubs, when I needed to do the CBX shims (24 of the F%$kers), the club had a box of 100 shims that you could borrow for a week, you simply replaced the ones you used with your old ones and then sent the kit back, it worked very well, I'm sure other clubs offer the same service.

Seen this using a laser mic and a gauge block

Hold the gauge block in the hand and the reading will go up
