Been on the bike now for bout 8 years... Never forgot the first feelings of bliss actually realising you are riding a motorcycle off down the road for the very first time.. shivering with excitement and grinning ear to ear and all the plans to travel country to country! Years have passed since I last had such an urge to go on that adventure. even after watching lwa & lwd several years back.. Thanks for sharing your adventure Oisin ('',

Cheers Dar - there really is nothing like it - even when myself and the lads went down to kerry not so long ago - the buzz is fantastic and one of my fav bits being such a fat bastard is stopping in garages drinking tea and eating cadbury's Moro's - deadly! :-)
cheers

Just wanted to say thanks very much for posting these up, I can only imagine the amount of effort and hassle it was to produce such good quality work.

I saw the long way around, and your videos a few months back. I promptly went out and got my learner permit and a bike, and it's great fun, so thanks a lot!

Fantastic! :-) bikes are addictive alright - I was just saying to one of the lads there - I've often went out for a ride in a bad mood but always come back smiling

Oisin

I'm on episode 45 and sadly coming to the end of a fab insight into what 99% of bikers would love to do but for a load of reasons cant or wont. Just two questions How do you super seed what you have done over the last few years and if you have a new project what is it ?

Re: Not Dead Yet - Episodes 1 - 52 - Round the world on a beemer

Epic videos man. I know you say you didn't do it for the money and that's obvious from the love and effort you put into making them but still a fookin shame when you see some lads making bags of cash from YouTube putting up videos of themselves doing stupid pranks. I know you did it for yourself to look back on in years to come but would be a pity if more people didn't get to see the journey maybe if RTE/TV3 etc.. picked up on it because it's truly one for the ages. Either way fair fooks to you. I literally laughed my bollox off at the story of buying the first bike didn't even attempt to bargain the man down

Hopefully will get the opportunity in a few years to do something big besides a week in Europe on the bike when my kids grow up. What you did has inspired me ill be honest. Best of luck with the new arrival and the other on the way. Enjoy

Re: Not Dead Yet - Episodes 1 - 52 - Round the world on a beemer

Just finished to watch now... Wow again. Beautiful images, very well and funnily told, I enjoyed it very much.
I loved best 2 parts for the images of landscape, the Mongolia part and Valdez part.
Just added Alaska and part of US to my list of places to travel, and my husband is getting more scared everyday

Pitty there are no images of the Southern part of the trip in South America, my dream trip would be to go to Ushuaia, maybe from Perou... Someday maybe

I also bought your 2 printed books received this week, half way of the first one

And very nice words in your last vid.
Thanks for sharing your adventure and may your life be full of happiness.

Re: Oisin Hughes - Not Dead Yet Video Series (Episodes 1 - 30)

Just finished the series last night... Dunno what I'll do without it now.

I'd love to be able to make something like that. Serious work and prep involved I'd imagine. Gonna have to just give it a bash.

Fair play Oisin, inspirational.

Re: Oisin Hughes - Not Dead Yet Video Series (Episodes 1 - 30)

Since I started watching the series, I've been confused and bothered at how little views it has gotten on YouTube and been thinking bout it.

I would suggest either renaming the channel after the series to make it easier identified. Also setting up a Arsebook and Twatter account for it and even an Instagram to share some of the thousands of photos you no doubt have from the trip. Also give the videos tags and keywords for searches as well.

It's a series that hundreds of thousands (maybe more) of people would enjoy watching but I just don't think it would come up in searches or people's recommended videos etc as it is.

Re: Not Dead yet ! OISIN HUGHES

Fair play for doing this - and recording it! Planning, riding and experiencing it all must have been great fun but I shudder at the thought of recording and backing up it all.

Remembering to charge everything, make sure to mount them right, turn them on, pointed the right away, make sure no one nicks them when you stop somewhere, but worst of all, memory card out, cables out, copy, paste - backup, backup, backup!

I got a helmet cam the other day and two weeks later I am already tired of reviewing and backing up the footage - probably worse for me as I am looking at same old M50 and M1 every single day. I think I have done 70000 kilometers in last 5 years, but all within Dublin, Meath & Louth. Had I kept heading in one direction, I could have gone around the world once and a bit more... or probably stuck at some international border.

Thanks again, enjoyed watching it!

No apologies needed Oisin.........the link will be great to see the videos in sequence , it can be difficult on you tube.....how you do it all completely amazes me. I thank you for all your efforts , and the fantastic enjoyment and the laughs I have had and will continue to have with the sequenced 1 to 52 episodes....Be lucky and safe on any future adventures....cheers
