Anyone around with an 08 blade

Lads,

Anyone with a 2008 blade around the Tallaght area able to call over at some stage over the weekend so I can compare foot rests. I have OEM ones and purchased an exhaust but its not lining up. Ive sent the exhaust back and the manufacturer seems sure the problem lies with my bike. It appears fine to me.

2008 should be part number 50600MFL000

Pull the rearset off and check the part number on the back of it

The exhaust pushes on to the manifold until it reaches the stop. The hanger on the exhaust doesnt line up with where it should on the foot rest to push the bolt through. If I force it up and get the bolt through it sits back into a very awkward angle through the hanger and the exhaust is touching the rear linkage.

The manufacturer is pretty sound about it and has no problem replacing but is sure that I will have the same issue. He said its the most popular model of the exhaust and they only have one jig and he is happy with the tolerances.

They changed the rearset in 2010 or 11,there should be a part number on the back of it which will confirm if itís the correct rearset

Re: Anyone around with an 08 blade

I fitted a stainless system to a VFR for a mate (never again) and it was a pig to fit..i had to "persuade" some parts to fit.....and it wasnt a cheap system....i ended up taking the can bolts out..starting the bike and only when it was up to temp did i fit the silencer bolts...ok after that...
