Re: AC welder recommendations

Ewm picotig 180 or tetrix 230.
Been using them for years and they both work well and both will work on domestic 13amp at a slightly reduced current.
Pricey I know but I have six of them and have never had any go wrong, the oldest one of mine is over 20 years old. They are in use all day everyday.
They will also work with a torch cooler as you'll know if you weld much aluminium is a very nice addition.

Re: AC welder recommendations

Ewm is good. Iíve a kemppi which has served well the past 3 years. Have a thermal arc which is in daily use the last 15 odd years with no issues. Try avoiding the cheapo options as they will not last in my experience itís a false economy imo

Re: AC welder recommendations

for occasional use dont pay any more than the starter price of around 800, you'll get a three year guarantee with it.
