Yamaha failure

This is to do with the Yamaha generators with the magnets falling off, they have made a new revised generator but never made a recall ,the thing is its happening alot some say it's over the glue they used to fix the magnets, either way they are faulty and it happent to me a while back .If you have a fazer or r1 with the part no (#5VY-81450-00-00) it needs to be upgraded to part no 2SH-81450-00-00.They should be letting people know .

Jesus,as if the 4c8 didnít have enough problems

I think the first of the Big Bangís were the most reliable R1 to date, rarely come across major issues on them. Love the 4c8ís but they can be an absolute nightmare

Re: Yamaha failure

Luck of the draw,I replaced a motor in one that was just out of warranty in 2010,dropped a valve and took the big end out with it.....same bike needed valves and guides done on it last year and a few of the shells were worn so they were done too

Recall for possible defective headlight loom on the 09 R1.
Had to hammer down DanFays door in order for them to get me the upgraded part under warranty.

Yeah that was a thing with the fjr and some tenere 12ís too, never did have to do a recall on the rn22 though....did have to replace the headlight unit and module on on a 2cr....but I think that was an isolated incident
