Yep tell them you already bought the bike bla bla bla, your friend is 18 and he's insured with them on the exact same bike and yer know another lad same age as yourself insured with them on the same bike. .. if they're not buying it ask to speak to the supervisor bla bla bla, if you have no luck try in a few hours or the next day you'll eventually talk to the right person

Oh and if you're as unlucky as I was (as a last ditch attempt when all else fails) ask for refusal in writing, they won't want to they'll tell you that they just can't quote you that their system won't allow it, the computer won't let them quote ya bla bla bla, just tell em if they can refuse you on the phone then they can do so in writing... you'll eventually get a quote keep hassling be polite

Re: Bike Insurance in Ireland -How much do you pay?

Lads, does anyone know of one insurance company that can cover multi policies for me? I've 3 bikes on a policy with Adelaide, the house & C&*e.
Is there anyone that can consolidate all of these together? Would just make life simpler at renewal time & might land me a discount!

Robs.

Re: Bike Insurance in Ireland -How much do you pay?

I'm just getting my quotes for my first insurance, and I have to say, MCE, get your sh*t sorted. The other half couldn't get a quote off them a few weeks ago because he has a non-irish (although european) license and ''their computers don't do that yet''

I rang up for a quote yesterday afternoon, and the guy I spoke to asked me what make and model, put me on hold for 15 minutes and then said his computer wasn't working and could he call me back ''in 5 minutes''. Yet to hear back.

I'm not even going to bother asking for a quote from them now.

I'm going with Liberty, 290 3rd party, not bad considering zero driving experience...on a 49cc. CN around 400 and Aon 350.

Re: Bike Insurance in Ireland -How much do you pay?

Was with Liberty for years with d cage and bike insurance on and off.
switched to Adelaide on my gsxr 750 k7 this Month. 530 euro's 3 pft with extended bike cover.
Was 50 euro's cheaper than Liberty and extended bike cover which Liberty don't allow.( for me anyway)
I'm 27 with only 1 years ncb..
So don't think it was so bad ...

The cheaper it is the Older IM getting!!!!

Renewal of 360 this year and down to 300 when I took off a bike. Fully comp, protected NCB etc. I'm happy enough with that, Adelaide are the nicest insurance company I've had to deal with

Re: Bike Insurance in Ireland -How much do you pay?

just found this thread (its been on the go for a while..)..just turned 50; full license for a long time; 4 years NCB, got 3rd party only with AON for 270 on the VFR which includes rider policy and euro break down cover (which is why I went with them). They added the F650 last week for 0.00 (happy days)...

37 cbr600fw
3 years NCB, Full licence 2 years, just getting back into bikes after a long spell away from them, even with grade 2 discount with other insurance companies,

i asked adelaide tpft quote, and got 282, then asked for fully comp quote, €315

€130,000 legal cover, ride other bikes policy, 45 days eu and a few other counteries cover,

No other company could match insurance spec for similar.

No gain, just a happy customer, second year running they have given me a great quote.

C&N got back to me.
Told them I needed to change my occupation to student and to add commuting.
They dropped the price to €403 from €449.
Very happy with that.
1 year NCB on a Bandit 600, 27 on provisional license.

So i called them all Liberty, Adelaide, EMC, AON.... noone wanted to give me a quote exept liberty

I am 30 years old on a provisional A license, have just recently done my IBT, have no bonuses and will be on a Honda NX 250

I'l have to pay 789€ for the fully comprehensive insurance, seems to be quite expensive for my tast but as it is the only quote I have I'll go for it.
