Did they tell you they would call you back at first? Im in same boat and they told me no companies gave them a price on their system so they are contacting their underwriters......should i be worried or is it their underwriters that are dishing out the cheap quotes? Zx6r also by the way.

Running the gauntlet here today: The story so far.....

Liberty must contact their underwriter due to twin Akras, airbox modification and Power Commander to even quote...Waiting

Adelaide my previous= 385.71 inc breakdown not legal cover 250 excess

MCE= 267.27 all in, breakdown+legal, helmet + clothing....650 excess

Principal= 300 all in as above...400 excess

Waiting on Axa and liberty calling back. Will try CN again as no answer from them any time I try....

No one I am missing is there lads???

€277.18 with Carole Nash all in Fully Comp and bonus protection. Can't argue with that in fairness.

Mods such as twin Akras, airbox mods and PC declared on a 2008 Superduke

8 years NCB.

Have not heard much good of MCE so wont chance them.

I tried to get a quote online but since I'm from Barcelona, they won't give it to me. Before I go to an agency I'd like to get some info (in case they want to rip me off).

I'm 34 years old and have been driving bikes for the last 18 years. I would also buy a 500cc or 600cc irish bike.

Thanks

seriously struggled to sort insurance for my z800.

One wanted me to take an advance riding course and on passing would do third party for 3200. three refused to quote. MCE have offered TPFT foe 1300 or fully comp for 2100. I insured the same bike in the IOM for 1000. What the hell is with insurance in this country?

Why have we not established a cooperative for insurance? a kind of insurance for bikers by bikers? If everyone paid into a pot and then the pot just paid out when there was an accident. The farmers in the UK have this and their premiums are pennies!

Because people here get huge payouts for banging their knee on a cafe table leg, being involved in a bike accident once would probably clear the pot in solicitor fees before it even got to court.

Presumably the Principal quote was multi-bike. That means the real
price difference is even greater. I changed to Principal last year because
they gave me the best quote.

Just off the phone with Principal...first figure failed to beat my renewal (for the last time) with Adelaide, second attempt when I told them they hadn't beaten my current quote blew it out of the water! Part of me is a bit bothered that the first quote is not the best quote...

Not doing too bad there i reckon! However passed the test 1 month into the policy and they wanted to charge me 20 extra for the pleasure of updating the policy to full license, was expecting a refund of some sort
Has anyone else been charged for these kinda of things?

On a side note came up a few years to a K7 SV650, has a scorpion can, if i declare this (which i know i should) will it cost me an extra arm and a leg?? Already paid 110 to transfer the policy and i know i need to declare the pipe to be PC but...

I've just had that conversation with Principal, if you don't declare it, and the worst happens, there's a risk they'll refuse to pay up. I declared my Akrapovic, was asked if it was to allow the bike to produce more power, or just cosmetic...I'll let you guess my answer! Tell them it's on there to replace the damaged original, you've disclosed the mod, should be ok...
