Re: Stolen Bike Thread

its actually the ambassador's residence so you would imagine there must be cameras etc. bizarre when I think about it, there is electronic gates etc. I lived down the road most of my life and the gates are never open - this is probably mad but i don't suppose someone on the inside could have taken it, that place is like fort knox

Re: Stolen Bike Thread

Taken from another forum

STOLEN - 10,000 reward

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know it's not most people on here's cup of tea but..

Received this from a friend in the Motorcycle trade -

Please help - circulate this release to as many people as possible - Thank
you

10,000 reward offered for information leading to recovery of priceless
stolen motorcycles

Two priceless, multi-award winning, custom motorcycles also known as "Art
Bikes" were stolen from a service area on the A1 today (23rd May). The two
machines, known as Psy-Bawg and Barnstormer, are extremely well known to the
international motorcycling community; as some of the world's best examples
of one-off custom engineering, having won numerous awards for design and
construction across Europe and beyond.

The unique nature of the one-off hand made components makes both motorcycles
very easily identifiable and totally worthless to anyone wishing to sell the
bikes on, but to the team at Hawg Haven in Norwich the bikes are priceless,
representing the culmination of years of dedication and hard work.
Consequently business partners Jon and Terry are offering a massive 10,000
reward for information which leads to the safe recovery of Psy-Bawg and
Barnstormer.

If you have ANY INFORMATION which may help track the machines down, or if
you have noticed anything unusual - the bikes are quite unmistakeable -
please contact Jon direct on 07776 185 608.

Contact Jon Quantrell at Hawg Haven on 01603 41 22 22 or see
www.hawghaven.co.uk <http://www.hawghaven.co.uk/> for more details.

Yeah they must be fu***g stupid to steal these bikes (or any bike for that matter). They are easily recognizable and difficult to break for parts.

Re: Stolen Bike Thread

This was last August but you'd never know...!!
1991 CB1 400 - Blue with white wheels
German Import - immaculate, had just spend 500 notes getting tyres, new clutch, new brakes, bug screen and a givi back box rack amongst other things. Only thing distintive was the speedo had the Mph tipex-d out and Kph added by the previous brain-surgeon owner, which meant you couldn't see it at night.
Arrived late to work one morn, took a quick run inside to show the face and get out of the wet gear, went back out to lock her up but alas no bike......
It most likely was broken down in Finglas and is now part of multiple bros's around the city. Gardai reckon they spot a bike they want and follow you, just make sure you insure for theft, unlike me who just had third party...........ouch.........: bag:

Re: Stolen Bike Thread

Hi lads - first post.

One of my bikes was stolen about 3 months ago from Wilton Rd, Cork City.
Make: Kawasaki
Model: ZX-10
Year: 1989
Reg: 89 C 18129
Colour: Black / RedStripe

Havn't heard anything about it since it was stolen, however, the theft has caused me to take action.
I also have a 99 Yamaha Vmax. After doing a lot of research I made contact with a company in China that make a GPS device that fits into your bike.
If you bike is stolen, you call it with your mobile phone, it sends back the GPS co-ordinates, and then you just enter them into Google Earth and it locates your bikes position. There's no re-occuring cost, just the price of the unit - that's it.
You do have to buy a SIM card for the device and keep it topped up so that it can send you back the text message with the co-ordinates.
I've started installing them into a few friends bikes, they work fine.

If anyone wants one just PM me. I'll help install the unit, I'll install google earth onto your computer (you need internet access) and I'll show you how to use.

Once you see this work you'll nearly wish that your Bike gets stolen so that you can catch the fucker and beat the crap out of him.

They're about 400 a pop. But its not really a busines so I'm not buying them in bulk or anything. The couple of Bikes I have put them on are 8,000 + machines so its not that much extra, however informing your Insurance Company of their installation should reduce your premium.
So depending on where you live, what type of insurance you get, how much your premium is and how much your bike is worth, dictates wheather its pricey or not. (e.g. if it knocks 100 off your premium then it pays for itself over time)

But the best part of it is this.
Your bike is stolen, You print out its exact location, You call around to the Guards and say 'let go get my bike'.
End result - Thief gets caught, has to pay for damage, possibly gets jail, you get your bike back.

or

Don't bother calling the Guards, call around with a few mates instead.

Re: Stolen Bike Thread

Here's a picture of my Vmax.
The stolen ZX-10 is just visible behind it.

Re: Stolen Bike Thread

What exactlyu do these guys do when they have stolen your bike? do they break them down for parts (in which case just arrest everyone who sells bits on ebay :) ) or are they shipped off somewhere? I can't imagine they could resell any of them in ireland, it's too small, I would think it would be very likely that you might bump into your old bike somewhere..
