Re: h2 zxr 750

Connector block behind the seat gets hammered with crap and corrodes
leading to wires breaking.
Ignition switch contacts corrode.
Coils corrode where the leads push in
Kill switch corrodes.
Doubt it's anything more than those, they're as reliable as anything else on the road.
You won't be dissapointed,they're a great bike

Re: h2 zxr 750

well folks an update,

the bike is turning over perfect but still no spark, plugs and leads new,

cdi was not replaced would this be the issue ?,or maybe the pick ups ?,or broken wires, will clean and check what soulx told me earlier, main question here could it be cdi ?

It could be anything really,
Was it running before it was parked? If so it's probably something simple.
If it was parked because it wasn't running then it may be more involved.
There's a few cdis on ebay if you need one.

Re: h2 zxr 750

Could be the ignition switch , some kawasaki,s of that vintage had a resistor in the wiring loom from the ignition switch , see if there,s a small grey wire in that loom.
Had a similar problem on my zrx1100

Re: h2 zxr 750

Before buying a cdi, check that you're getting 12v into it by disconnecting it at the multiblock coonector. If you are getting 12v, use an analouge multimeter on the outputs to the coils and see if the voltage is pulsing regularly when turning the engine over. Should be going from +12v to 0v in quick pulses.
You can also try cdi repair if its fked as it might be a blown solder connection internally. Difficult to take apart but can be done as a last resort, youtube is your friend there. There are also a few places in uk that repair cdis. Wouldnt say its the pulse coil pick ups as they are usually reliable. As said above could be most definitely a dodgy wiring connection somewhere...

It's the same only different
Main differences are the carbs and the head.
ZXR has shims while the GPX has screw and locknut.
Different lubrication system. But other than that, exactly the same.
Strangely enough, the GPX is more powerful
