Question Best wooden garden shed

Looking at getting a wooden shed for maybe 3 bikes
Haven't got the monies for steel or concrete so getting a timber one
Where makes a good one around wicklow or Dublin and would they put it up?

Kelly's sawmills are pricey but the sheds are quality!

Mate of mine got one off these, you can go and have a gawk at them in johnstown garden center Naas.

https://www.johnstowngardencentre.ie...ed-company/642

The shed company.ie

With 3 bikes you need at least 10x10ft with double door opening bigger if you want loads of tools or a lift in it.

Good quality from what I could see.

Had the same issue myself a few years back, looked in usual diy stores, shite quality sheds for huge money! Decided to build one myself, basic stuff, firstly, if you've 3 bikes build it big enough for 5/6 bikes, that gives you options for working on bikes in the dry! I put in 6" concrete base, measured out, shuttered, rubble, stones, gravel, heavy plastic sheet, and a few inches of concrete tamped down on top, the base became my work space for building the framework, 2" x 2" timber, both gables and both sides, I got pressure treated shiplap timber for the cladding from my local sawmill, pitched roof with a few sheets of galvanized for the roof, a week of evenings in spring had the four sides assembled and then raised and joined together, loads of good videos on YouTube, all in I built it for about 400 including concrete base, if you can hammer a nail straight and cut a piece of wood straight then you can build a shed....simples!

don't go with steel unless you're getting insulated panels. Condensation trouble and freeze the bollix off you with all the cold surfaces as well as the heat loss.

In fact if I could go back and do it again I'd probably go bigger.. it's now packed with more kiddy stuff than bike stuff. Still have a table lift on the agenda. Can recommend the builder who did this for me
How.much did that cost? Lovely shed

Worth considering lining a wooden shed inside with osb board and rock wool. Did this with one of my sheds and no bother with temp changes causing condensation on the bikes.
Shed I built this year was just for working on bikes and sometimes the bike can be soaked with condensation.

Important question Iano, you looking to just store the bikes or be able to work on them as well? If its the latter go as big as absolutely possible.

I got a 10ft x 12ft ship lap timber shed with steel cladding roof for 1100 from Tree top sheds. I have it about 2 and a Half years now. It is felt lined on roof and walls so no issue with condensation drops from the steel clad roof. They were the cheapest I could find at the time. They are based in Cashel Co. Tipperary but they traveled to me here in cork to install it. I have since taken down the shed moved house and rebuilt it at the new place and its still going strong. This size shed is just big enough for the two bikes, it allows me to store one while working on the other one.
