Harpic (ph 4) is about 10 times less acidic than lemon/vinegar (ph 3) (http://rb-msds.com.au/uploadedFiles/...%20SD%20AU.pdf)
It will give off gas & eats away at the metal |

Lads just a quick question on this,
The active ingredient in Harpic is Hydrochloric Acid, one thing about Hydrochloric acid is that it continues to "work" (ie, eat into the metal) after being rinsed and dried off. Apparently heat can slow it down or stop it which is handy as it'll be used on a header pipe. I'm planning to use this on my header pipe today and straight afterwards going to blast a load of ACF-50 on it and run the engine for a few mins this evening to heat it up... Anyone had any negative results or experiences using this shit on header pipes a few weeks after? |

Yup, I've seen this practices over the years and never heard of any secondary effects.
Haven't tried it myself but tons of vids out there showing what seems to be "magic" pretty much :P |
