Default 3 Points for speeding

I got done for speeding yesterday.

Do I wait until my insurance renewal in August to notify Carole Nash or do I need to let them know once I've received the fine in the post? The 3 points are my first in over 35 years driving and riding and I'm annoyed with myself, how will they impact my insurance premiums?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Bad luck...

As soon as you are notified of the offence, you must let your insurer know.

It may not impact your premium, some will allow you 3 points without effect (happened me a few years back)...but I don't what CN will do...

Where did it happen to help others be vigilant.

I near fell over when I got caught in the cage in 2016.
5kms over limit that it's three points for 3 years!

We're you on the bike?

Wait till you get the notice in the post before you let them know....you don't have them till you get them and accept them

Also if there are any errors on the notice you can appeal it

I got off a one way street notice recently coz the Guard made an error

It was two guards using a hand radar on the Ballyboden Road in Dublin. There's one of those road safety speed display signs about 200m down from where they were tucked away but I noticed it was turned off that morning. Though I can't honestly blame that for me being a idiot!

whats that in old Money 3mph that's a bit rich, what a dangerous driver your missus is

Over here the typical rule of thumbs is "9 is fine 10 you're mine"
"12 is fine 16 you're mine" doesn't sound so poetic

Always thought it was " two in the chest, one in the head, you're dead".

If you accept them, pay accordingly, it can still take months for administration to apply them to your record. So if your renewal comes up and you still haven't received correspondence that they have been, well you don't have any points yet.
