Default Repair for waterproof zippers !!!

Hi all,

The zipper on my 12 year old Spidi all weather suit has finally given up !!!

The rest of the suit is still in perfect condition, so I want to find out where best to get it correctly repaired. Any ideas???

Thanks in advance,
P

I got a waterproof zip fitted to my jackit by The ZipYard. They did a nice job on it but I haven't been out in heavy rain to test it.

Look at the zip pull and see if it has a model number. It's easy to replace that if the zip teeth aren't mangled. Cheap fix if you can find the replacement pull.

I've been in horrible weather since I got the zip replaced and it's perfect. Only issue I had was the original zip was double ended, the replacement was just a single zip, not the end of the world, but when you're used to having a zip at both ends it takes a while to adapt back to it.

So Zipyard are recommended? The outer/waterproof zip on my RST textiles has come off halfway up and its windy now, haven't gotten wet yet though.

Tried the ZipYard in Ranelagh, no joy.

The lady said she'd been fixing this sort of stuff for 30 years ... but had never seen the external fully waterproof zip on the Spidi Admiral H2Out suit !!!

Any other ideas folks?

I was thinking it was an oversuit. But it's really a one piece jocks/trouser combo with armour.

Latest one @600 means I'd be looking at Zip replacement as well....
