Faugheen road race Practice Saturday racing Sunday

dont forget this weekend road racing at Faugheen village County Tipperary
5 mins from Carrick on suir
practice on Saturday 20th and racing on Sunday 21st

The narrow roads of Faugheen are buzzing with activity with the build up to the races
around our fantastic and challenging 2.2 mile circuit. Roads close early, we are hoping to get on Newcomers out on the grid around 12noonSaturday and racing will start at 11am on Sunday. With many of the top Irish road racers competing at this national round of the road racing calendar, spectators will have a weekend of pure speed with riders travelling at speeds in excess of 180 mph on closed public roads with viewing vantage points so
close you can see the rider’s eyes as they pass. Then later you can meet the same
riders in the paddock and see how very normal and down to earth they are without their helmet on.

Can you still watch near the corner (Carrick corner). It looks like it's now a restricted area?

Re: Faugheen 50

Great days racing from Faugheen, they raced through lunch to ensure all the races were completed before the rain that was forecast arrived. Fair play to the organisers, the racers and the spectators, seamless racing.

Re: Faugheen 50

Sweeney wasn't too pleased with the move Mike Browne pulled to overtake him for 2nd spot in the 600 race?

Did anyone see it... Was it Dangerous? In fairness to sweeney he's a good safe pilot.. Seeing him shaking his head etc would make me believe the move was somewhat sketchy?

Didn't see it but they had to be separated in the paddock.

Re: Faugheen 50

saw it both brown and sweeney coming into creamery corner very hot i was on one of the truck trailers in the field so had a good view , brown shot up the inside
could have been dangerous and taken both sweeney and mc gee out but that' s racing

similar thing happened in support race and three riders ended up on the road with one bike in shite after tumbling head over heals
all ok but that race was cancelled as that was the second red flag in that race
and they were under pressure to keep the racing flowing with bad weather
on the way in afternoon .
Racing was done and dusted at 14. 40 never seen that before

Re: Faugheen 50

Fair enough I suppose... Any over take would feel somewhat dangerous I suppose given how narrow the circuit is.

On fairness to Browne he's flying lately. Man to watch
