Got the bike on Dyno today

Took the blade to JOG today to see what the crack was. I knew there was a flat spot around 3k. Bike is standard except for slip on Racefit can.

Was thinking if it has 175hp at crank, then I would see around 155hp at rear wheel.
Was pleasantly surprised to see it put out just shy of 167.

Definitely at flat spot & fuelling it out, so a powercommander is being ordered by John & will be fitted next week.

Reckon 170+ at rear wheel & smooth power delivery.
My first time seen a dyno in action in person. Nice set up he has.

I'd say that should be enough to take you to Aldi and back.

did he offer you option to flash it? might work out better and quicker to flash, dont think hes fond of playing with ignition tables though.

Exhilarating and a bit scary isn't it. :smileee:
Got my SRAD dynoed in NDM years ago and I couldn't believe how violent a stationary bike could be :woots:

Great craic being in the dyno room when your bike is being banged up through the gears. The sight and sounds are a sense to behold

And a lovely smell of petroll, and exhaust fumes on you when you get back home.....:lbhbh:

Likewise, I took the Bonnie to Steve and within a minute I was outside puffing on a Johnny Blue trying to calm me pot herbs :woots:

Yeah, he said he could flash the ECU, but recommended the PC.
Yes, it's expensive, but at least you can remove & put it on next bike. I know sweet FA when it comes to this stuff, except from what I've seen on YT.

More than happy to take his advice & let hem work his magic.

Exactly this!
First it starts off nice and easy, then things to get more exciting. One minute your there thinking (I hope the bike doesn't blow it's engine), then your thinking ...Go to fuck...give it the beans.

When he told me to stand beside the bike instead of behind it, I knew things were bout to get lively.

What was the end result? Did you get the ECU flashed or fit the PC?

Whats the cost of the run if you dont mind? I've a race system on my bike and id be curious to see what the fueling is like...

PADDYOT 15th May 2020 10:09 AM

Re: Got the bike on Dyno today

Just curious, how does the PCV handle bikes with different ride modes?
Would it have to be set up for each one and would this add to dyno time and therefore more expensive to set up?
I was just looking at the PC site and they're not crazy money to buy but then I suppose the expensive bit is paying someone to set it up correctly?

Best off ring and ask as it may vary from bike to bike.

They change it by throttle maps so no difference.

For those of us that haven't got their reading glasses with them. :bag:

170? Can't make out the torque. Looks like a good healthy curve though.

I know there’s a big Willy swinging thing for bhp but dollops of torque is more satisfying for the real world road riding.:thumbsup2:
So much less snickering around with the gear box.

Absolutely. Torque is what you want for the roads.
Just nice to see that the engine is strong & putting out what is should be & probably more from stock.
