Vrt tomorrow

So i have the sheet that allows you to register a new owner
the sheet with segments 9, 10 ,11

I imagine i may get turned down with it but gonna give it a shot.

What is meant when they look for a bill or document from the registered owner, is that the previous owner ?

After all i am trying to register it in my name

The only bit of the v5 that you need is the part on the reverse side of the cover - The other page is for "permanent export" and also a part for you to hold on to. I'm not sure which sections they are off hand, but if you have the side to fill in your own personal details as the new registered owner and where yourself and the previous owner signed, that's the one. :thumbsup2:

You will also need a written receipt, signed and dated from the previous owner or else an invoice if bought from a shop/ garage.

There is two forms that you will need to fill out from the VRT Website (Where you booked the VRT) and if the bike came in from UK (or rest of Europe) you will need to present ferry/ shipping documentation to prove when it came in to the Country (this is not required for Northern Ireland)

Proof of PPS Number and address are also a requirement as well as Photo ID.

If there is less than 6k kms or less than 6 months old then in addtion to HRT, vat would also be charged.

I turned up without a written receipt once, girl behind the desk handed me a pen and paper and got me to write one up there and then. No need for authentic sellers signature or anything like that, just have a piece of paper that documents the sale with date, price, description, signature and something like 'paid in full' on it. :thumbsup2:

If eyou don't get good vibes out of whoever is handling your paperwork just excuse yourself and try in a different window or place.

I done mine last Saturday - Went in with all paperwork, etc and they said "unfortunately we can't register the bike today..." I cacked myself for a sec until they said that it was due to the bike being a special edition that they don't have in their system :woots: I've to go back in today to pay the VRT charge and get my reg number - I had to wait until they uploaded the bike to the VRT Database! :lbhbh:

My advice: make sure you have ALL paper work needed on the first day of going in - you could end up getting fined if you've to re-schedule outside of the 30 day window, so double check the VRT website for all paperwork needed. For my last bike I forgot my proof of address and PPS number - they let me come back that day without appointment, but they have changed this now.

Any questions u can pop me a PM. :thumbsup2:

had my vrt this morning on my rr4, didnt have address or pps either, asked me to come back next week which was fine, they had issues with the frame being german and the rest of the bike coming from an irish donor.... the joys of it
